ats multiplayer

who controls mods in ats multiplayer i asked truckers mp but there saying its scs all i want to no is why cant we have mods in multiplayer as the engine sound is nothing like a real american truck i use cummins n14 in single player and would love to use it in multiplayer

MP is a mod. The people who made it chose to not allow other mods. You need to ask them why. SCS has nothing to do with it.

Generally speaking the problem with mods is that they're installed locally on your machine, and other players won't necessarily have those same mods installed, so they won't be able to see that truck or whatever mod it is. However I have glanced over the multiplayer mod rules briefly and found it very confusing as to exactly what's allowed and what isn't. I also don't know whether they're actually doing anything to prevent you from using mods. Either prevent the game from starting, starting without mods, or maybe (in the case of a sound mod) other players simply won't hear your engine.

When you start up truckersmp it disables your mods whether they're active or not.

I did see a post the other day about something that worked in mp for engine sounds, but don't remember what it was called.
