I see tons of people asking for player owned trailers, but having never played long haul I don't get how it would be implemented. Would you have trailer yards, like garages, where trailers get stored, and you have to go back to it to get/return a trailer? Or are they simply a trailer with a special skin that shows up in the options when you go to pick up a load?

I could definitely see the advantage if they also added a skin editor, that was built into the game. However, without the ability to easily create your own truck/trailer skins I see very little point to it. I guess for everyone who has the software and knowledge to make their own skins currently it would be cool, so maybe I should figure out how to do that.

@flight50 Indeed, I know what you mean. I only ever read the comment section once. It's like reading comments on YouTube, you're either a masochist who enjoys it for kicks, or you read them once, realise what they are - and then never peruse them again.

I do hope the surprise is an announcement of a roadmap for next year, or a new partnership or some such. I agree that an event is just that, an event, hardly worthy of a surprise, let a lone a Christmas one.

@Hell_Raiser
I didn't play the game personally so I don't remember which 18wos had trailer ownership, but it had trailer storage yards that you drove to for your trailers.

If they add trailer ownership to ATS I would like to have trailer yards you can drive to and see all your trailers sitting there, and the ability to paint your trailer to match the truck including matching designs for the more intricate paint designs the trucks have.

I hope we get a blog tomorrow. I check daily for them, lol.

In regards to trailer ownership, I honestly could care less. For those that want them, fine, but it is not something I need or want. I am fine with just owning my truck and hauling someone else's trailer. Now I would love more trailer/cargo variety without depending on mods. I know this will come as more states arrive with specific industries but with the lack of truck manufacturers, SCS can provided things in which they do have control over. I can't wait to see this surprise. It may or may not be a disappointment but we will just have to see. I am more or less looking forward into 2018 than this so called Christmas surprise.

That would be pretty cool, christmas lights on all the garages/buildings in game. Way to much work though.

I already decorated my garage with lights and garland. Took a week to get everything like I wanted until something came a jacked with my stuff. I aimed by house cameras at those locations so that I am catch the culprit if it happens again. So, I'm good, lol. Give me something juicy. Decorating was a pita for me. I only getting older, not younger, lol.
