Most people will tell you the best way to optimise games with GeForce experience is to remove GeForce experience.

I would have removed it long ago had they not force merged Shadowplay into it.

GeForce Experience optimization is only for people who have no clue whatsoever how to change graphics setting in any game (console players who migrated to PC very recently). Use it only when you are totaly helpless.

Turn off MLAA in game and compensate by using NVIDIA control panel to set FXAA on, Antialiasing x4, multisample x4.

I can run on Ultra just fine on a 750Ti, i5 7500, 16gb RAM. I hover around 46fps+ with the odd drop into the mid 30 range in built up areas. I'm not a fussy "omg it's not 60fps the world will end type". So long as there are no"visible" slow downs, I'm happy.

i have 4x MSAA, 4x SGSSAA and now FXAA, if i set the scaling above 100% then the nvidia settings will not apply correctly

100% scaling

200% scaling

and i had additional flickering on the grill with 200%

Try changing the in game setting manually, then Geforce might work again.

Automatic optimization (AO) sucks - always! A friend of mine used AO for World of WarPlanes and then cried about the game running with 15 FPS. So I went there, made the settings manually and he stopped crying. There's a saying: "If you want something done right, do it yourself".
The only thing GFEx is good for is recording your gameplay with compression and without gameplay lag.
