I've only ever had the need to sleep during an ST when I've taken too long. IMO the time we get is more than enough. I have yet to hear from someone which is an ST route that is impossible to make in time.

@Bandit & The Snowman. I believe GT182 has that issue with not making his deliveries for Special Transport. He is the only other one I am aware of. I myself, haven't had the issue.

I think he's the only one, and personally I believe there's something wrong with his profile. And well, rest assured SCS will hear all this tips to add to next ST updates.. Personally, I hate when the front escort stops on uphill, or stops too fast.. I'd really like to see that improved, and of course all previous things mentioned that'd add a lot of realism. And yes, US map will get bigger, and we will want longer and more challenging ST jobs.. And like Flight50 said, just dreaming about Boeing and Washington keeps me awake at night.. So let's wait and see..

Out of interest can anyone direct me perhaps to a youtube channel that would help in understanding the turning arcs and maneuverability of the truck, especially with the dolly, I try not to take jobs with them even with the heavy cargo pack, because I don't know how to drive them, but it was magnified tonight, as I threw in the special cargo DLC when I got NM and OR. First special cargo was alright, a House from Farmington to Ranton, pretty straight forward. The 2nd from Soccoro to Tuson was a disaster for multiple reasons, not sure what I clipped coming into Show Low, but hit something, which took a bit of work to recover, actually didn't do too bad until I got into the outskirts of Tuson and screwed up the turn from the 4 lane to the 2 lane road that lead to the interstate. Didn't help that there was traffic right on the light, which got in my way trying to fix it, screwed up reversing even more.... I think I spent 20 minutes trying to get through that one intersection lol

So yeah if anyone could put out somewhere I could learn to properly control the cargo it'd be appreciated.

Show Low has a row of street lamp posts that are very close to the edge of the roadway. I clipped a few of those the other day. With a sufficiently wide load you may have to almost drive on the left lane, which of course the Special Transport lead car doesn't like.

Tell me, who in their right mind plans a Special Transport from Socorro to Tucson through Show Low and the Salt River Canyon anyway? Honestly, it'd be much safer, cheaper and smarter to just go down the 25 and the 10. If I ever get a hold of that dispatcher or whoever planned that route, I'll, I'll … thank them for it. :D Great fun!

As for the dolly, I try driving such that I never have to back it up. Takes some thinking ahead and proactive driving, but it can be done.

@hangman005. You have to turn very wide with US trucks. The turning radius of long nose nose trucks alone is wider than cabovers. Add in hh trailers and it gets even wider. Not only that, but our typical hh trailers do not have steerable axles on trailer like ETS2. Much more of a challenge that maynot be for everyone. You have to factor all the above into your turns. If you think you turned wide enough, turn wider. Until you can gauge better and anticipate where your trailer will end up, just turn as wide as you can. Going into other lanes may be required when turning.

For right hand turns, get in the left lane or partially in the left lane before turning. Turn wide enough so that at the end of your turn, your rear tire hugs the curb. For left turns continue straight and slightly past the road you want to turn to, cut sharp and swing your trailer around. With heavy haul, you biggest concern is....do you have clearance for that last axle of your trailer. I am on my cel right now so I can't get you a video. But in a nutshell, what I have said, is what you will find visually.

Thanks, it's been a big help so far. The turning arcs and actually having a nose on your truck was the biggest learning curve, especially after almost a thousand hours playing ETS2 :D

Sweet hangman005. If I were you, I'd get use to hh first before trying to do most of the ST loads if you have that dlc. The ST is not only bulkier loads, but it is wider in most cases. This usually guarantees that you will have a stinger on the end. The stinger is the additional axles trailer on the rear. Also known as the booster or spreader. I even have issues with the stinger sometimes myself. Parking a lowboy with a stinger is even tougher, at least in regular HH loads. ST its a bit easier because they pull straight in. But HH you have to maneuver around things to get in. I have to skip parking these sometimes, lol.

It has been awhile since I added ideas to this thread. Just like the ATS Flatbed thread (same as in my signature), I like to present ideas for the community and the devs on cargo variety that exist in North America. Inspiration, ideas, awareness...whatever the case may be, I like looking for cargo that could come to ATS. In a lot of cases, the cargoes I find can go into ETS2 as well, but my searches are however geared towards North America on the way they load and tie down the cargo.

Well here is the next round of cargo. I'd much rather SCS come up with a 2nd tier dlc for Special Transport and call it, Over Weight/Oversized Special Cargo instead of trying to added to what we already paid for. The devs are already providing new routes per every new dlc but we are needing a bit more variety as more states come. Reusing the same ones for 48 states would become repetitive without new contents here and there. ETS2 has Heavy Haul, Oversized and Special Transport. Why not add one more to ATS to get 3 cargo packs as well.
