I’m just guessing. It’s not impossible for Daimler North America to directly apply Weststar 49X headlights and interiors, assuming that Freightliner will launch the updated Freightliner 122SD next year.
Hopefully in the future America Truck Simulator will add these trucks: Freightliner 122SD/Century/Columbia/FLD/Cascadia/Coronado, Kenworth T800/T880/W990,Volvo VNX740, International HX520/ ProStar, and MACK Pinnacle, MACK Titan.

Let’s wait for the news from scs software, after all, we can’t know how many trucks scs software is going to add to the truck simulation in the Americas this year.

There is no reason for the 122SD to go with 49x headlights. That makes no sense. The headlights already got an identity change from the round headlights that was on the 132SD. The 49x is the 49x, let its identity be that. Don't push that to another truck. Otherwise, drop the 122SD and make people buy the 49x. The cabin and sleeper is one thing but using the front end of a truck for another won't or at least shouldn't happen.

WS recently promoted the 4900 on their social media, maybe there is a small glimmer of hope that it'll still be in production by the time SCS get round to it :) https://www.facebook.com/westernstartru ... 3673338293

I think the next truck now will be the VNL, that the 5700 is getting an update and needs to be built from the ground up for me would expect SCS to start from the ground up with a truck that isn't going to change soon.

I fell in love with Freightliner 122SD last year, from this video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LzntM3agplI&t=119s

It really depends if SCS will go for more trucks or for a unique truck.
We're at half a year mark for ATS already and no new trucks yet, not even an announcement.
If SCS wants to go fast, then I can only guess Mack CHU613 (Pinnacle) and/or International LT/(new)HX as those are the only 2 trucks that share existing in-game cabs that can be easily reused.
Technically the new VNL uses the same cab as the old one, but the in-game one is not useable at all.
Any other truck (122SD, 5700XE(current gen), VNL) does require building stuff from ground up, and that imo would mean only a single truck for ATS this year.
I'm curious to see what approach SCS would take, personally I would prefer to get 2 trucks this year, simply for the sake of variety on the roads. But if SCS decides to go for a single truck, then I sure as heck hope it will be the VNL. Imo it's not the time for 122SD yet. It should come next year or even later, as it seems to be more of a vocational truck, rather than highway rig.
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.

VNL and 404XE for this year, those are the crucial missing pieces of the puzzle.

In regards to the 5700...it really depends on which year SCS got a license for. We all know that SCS was working something from WS prior to the 49x. If it was the old 5700, so be it. That would be prior to the reworked one now that is rumored. Its also possible that WS coordinated this new version well ahead of time and that is what we could potentially get in ATS if we indeed get the 5700. Like the Cascadia, that license they got was older than the newest model on the market now. If it takes SCS 1 year to build an ATS truck, we get an older model. It is what it is and not the end of the world to me. Otherwise we'd never get trucks because SCS would have to go back and keep tweaking something just because a manufacturer added something.

I'm with Wolfi though. I'm cool with one this year. If SCS wanted the fast track, the two we always talk about are the perfect candidates. Well 3 if we got both the HX and LT in a miracle move. Then of course the Pinnacle. I'm also in agreement that the 122SD is perhaps 2 years away. As long as the current OTR trucks come first, I think that is best to push a non fleet spec truck. Do we risk loosing the 122SD, I don't think so honestly. Maybe a makeover but not a drastic change. The T880 and T800 are still both available on Kenworth's page, the HX is new and the newer Volvo styles are fairly still new. I don't think the 122SD goes anywhere just yet. Its in the market with the T880 as the older of the vocationals. Getting all more models would be cool but its not time right now.

The perfect time to do more vocationals imho is a part 2 of HH or ST. We got what we paid for already with those cargo packs. I want new cargo. In another 2-3 years, the map will be even larger...more territory covered and perhaps more industries covered. I'd love to see more industry cargo packs. Primarily farming and construction. I see tons of heavy haul in my city alone. There is always construction going on somewhere in the largest cities. So is there a place for vocational in ATS, heck yeah. I'm a HH type guy myself but I can be realistic and wait til its time for all that. I don't think the 49x should be the only vocational in ATS my any means. Everyone's heavy duty should debut eventually. (1) modern, (1) classic if applicable and then the (1) hh. That is potentially 21 models at the least. Still less than 18 WoS but I'll take ATS quality anyday.

With every time the 122hd is mentioned makes me want to not have it in game more and more. Honestly, I'd rather have the HX.
In a world full of swift drivers, I'm an O/O.
