Sleeper size won't be good especially on long runs it'll be torture.

Axles are really close to each other and front axle will reach the weight limit way faster. So distributing weight will be a torture.

Since speed limits in US are way faster, it'll burn a lot of fuel especially on east coast and it'll be a torture for your wallet.

You guys are seriously don't understand why cabovers won't fit US. Except the maneuverability, cabovers has no advantage and most of the regions are using cabovers because their roads are tighter than US.

But it's an electric truck so it'll be good on regional haul. But if that thing comes with diesel then just no.

And how do you come to this conclusion? The 9900i isn’t in production anymore. The 4900 is, so the two are not alike. We don’t need a redo of the W900 nor 389 just to get the 4900. Had it not been for the 49x, the 5700 and the 4900 are by far the two to do. I don’t see that changing.

Now here is a twist that is possible. WS approached SCS. If this is about marketing the 49x, that license should be little to nothing. SCS didn’t ask for it. Heck they didn’t even know about it. So the 2 on the menu to ask for should still be on the menu.

@flight50 I sincerely hope you are right and I just have a doom-merchant hunch. :D My feeling is that SCS are going to be moving away from the classic look trucks to more of what is available newer style. My two favourites outside the 'real' classics are the 5700 and 4900, I'm glad that the 5700 is in production to some extent whenever it arrives.

The 49x could be instead of the 4900 maybe? That is pure speculation on my part - I know that both are in production and the 4900 is still available to buy new.

The 4900 is our last hope for a pure classic. If SCS can provide that one as a CAD reference model, that would be the only top notch classic. The best part is that WS is in a very good place with SCS. Could they be the first 3 model manufacturer in the game. Or will it be a Paccar truck. I’d stick be in my W900 but more variety on the road is what matters at he end of the day for me.

Agree with you on the last hope, it would be utterly fantastic for SCS and WS to have all 3 models in the game. Fingers, toes and everything crossed that it happens :)

The WS 4900 is a weird cookie really. A lot of sources claim it's either going out of production or already not produced anymore, WS site itself only lists 85 new ones available, so it looks like it's running out of stock.
If by some miracle SCS decides to make it though (and actually manages to do it in time) I hope the 4900 gets the 49x treatment with SFA and SBA options as it's yet another truck that follows my rule: "SBA trucks look a lot better than SFA" :P
I don't have high hopes for it though. It will already be a stretch if we would get current gen 5700XE...

As for the first manufacturer with 3 trucks, I'd still say it will be International, as I'm still hoping for an LT/HX 2-pack, since 80% of those trucks is identical.

The 4900 is not heading out of production any time soon; they are taking the same stance as KW on the W900, as long as customers want them, they will build them.

The 4900 hits a specific market that the 49X does not quite hit yet and WS customers are even more brand loyal than KW customers.

The only reason truck availability is down (and it is for everyone) is due to the lack of processor chips that is affecting several industries; WS has a ton of 99% built trucks waiting for the components that use the processors.

You mean, they are even more afraid of change and accepting the future? :P
But whatever, as I said, I'll happily hug the 4900, if we get the SBA version as well. If not, it will be yet another truck I will only drive during testing and never even look at it again.

No, they are successful business people running small companies that have been devastated in the past by "new & improved" that equated to unavailable broken down assets generating 0 revenue

Back to speculation. Alis volat propriis is the motto of Oregon. We're getting the...uhh... *checks notes* Western Star 4900.
