Next ATS truck speculation
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
I'm dizzy with so many gauges in 5700 dashboard (seems a plane).
But all will be fine if the display shows distance to empty fuel.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
I like the dashboards of the Western Star 5700XE and Freightliner 122SD. I see that the dashboard of the Western Star 5700XE is the same as the Kenworth T680. It can clearly see the fuel tank capacity.
Hopefully in the future America Truck Simulator will add these trucks: Freightliner 122SD/Century/Columbia/FLD/Cascadia/Coronado, Kenworth T800/T880/W990,Volvo VNX740, International HX520/ ProStar, and MACK Pinnacle, MACK Titan.

My joy is to see this forum talking about the WS 5700. Alias I deeply hope that we are not kidding ourselves, and that it really is the next truck on the ATS.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
If they do add the 4900 or the 5700 I think the cab options will be: day cab, 68" stratosphere (maybe flat top instead), 82" stratosphere, with their corresponding roof caps.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
That classic dashboard with wooden trim looks sooo good! I can smell the wood from here lol!

That stratosphere cab there is what they should of put on the 49X looks alot better with the shape of the 49X then having the Freightliner cab on it. That 5700 for a Aero style truck is clean, don't mind it actually. Though why does WS put a big window on one side of the cab, looks abnormal as.supersobes wrote: ↑03 Aug 2021 03:15 Wow, I've actually never seen the ultra high roof on the 5700, neither in pictures or in real-life. This is literally the first time I've laid eyes on one. It makes sense that the article I got this picture from says the truck runs in Michigan because the max GVW there is 164,000 pounds, so the larger sleeper wouldn't be a problem for the weights there.
I'd honestly be very surprised if SCS includes this cab in the game given how rare it is.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
I decided to whip up a quick illustration comparing the Western Star 5700 day cab vs 68in sleeper vs 82in sleeper options. Hopefully, this side-by-side comparison helps identify the differences. Enjoy!

It is Sisl's private facebook page and not official SCS. It means nothing.
There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

That’s a good guess I would say. The cabs wouldn’t matter much but I guess they would restrict to three different chassis lengths. So if 68 inch is the medium size, we might get both roof options. That could naturally give us five cab variants for the truck (daycab + low + 2 strato. + 1 strato. ultra).iceCat3003 wrote: ↑03 Aug 2021 19:13 If they do add the 4900 or the 5700 I think the cab options will be: day cab, 68" stratosphere (maybe flat top instead), 82" stratosphere, with their corresponding roof caps.
The VNL would get four cabs with that logic (300, 740, 760, 860). Still doubtful about the 860 though.
