Next ATS truck speculation
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Are Kenworth T800, Kenworth T880 and Western Star 4900, Western Star 49X, Freightliner 122SD and International HX a multi-function long-distance car?
Hopefully in the future America Truck Simulator will add these trucks: Freightliner 122SD/Century/Columbia/FLD/Cascadia/Coronado, Kenworth T800/T880/W990,Volvo VNX740, International HX520/ ProStar, and MACK Pinnacle, MACK Titan.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
^They can be if you spec them that way. The 4900 doesn't fit that group though. Its like the 389 and the W900. It can go for OTR, regional or vocational. The 122SD and 49x have sleepers and target vocational but can be the same as the 389, W900 and 4900. The HX, T800 and T880 would be vocational for sure. You could do regional hauling if necessary I'm sure but its purpose is heavy duty vocational usage and typically local type usage.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Simple. 49X shares so many features with Freightliner Cascadia. So it gives a vibe like you are driving Freightliner instead of Western Star. But 5700 is completely unique. Normally WS makes classical type of trucks and it's the first aero truck that they have released. From interior to exterior it shares parts from history (such as sleeper, gauges etc) and future (such as smart steering wheel, dashboard computer etc.)Bulldog385 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2021 06:05 I'm not hating on the 5700XE or anything, I would drive it ... but I just dont get why everyone is wanting it so bad? we just got the 49X awhile back ... if anything I'd rather have a classic hooded Star car like the 4900EX or even a 4900FA, but that's just my $.02
It's both looking classic and aero, it's a unique truck. It's like more Western Star unlike 49X

I agree whole heartedly. I have nothing against newer models, but I got into US trucks in the 80s and yes Big trouble in Little China was a large factor in that, so for me those classic old shapes are the ones that really call to me most.Bulldog385 wrote: ↑16 Sep 2021 06:05 if anything I'd rather have a classic hooded Star car like the 4900EX or even a 4900FA, but that's just my $.02
If we could get at least one old style truck of each brand I'd be in gamer heaven.

every picture from another truck make me feel regret about my choices in poll. because every of them seem pretty good to me.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Exactly. Like Peterbilt 389 in game, because IRL exists an option with one-piece windshield. Maybe with a tuning pack for Peterbilt ...
For Western Star there's no option, I think.

T800 is designed to be used for anything. You can still order one with a sleeper at a Kenworth dealer, but the dealer closest to me hasn't ordered one with a full sleeper in a few years. They're mainly vocational, but multipurpose like 49x and T880. W900 can be vocational too.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Kenworth T800 and Kenworth T880 can also be used as long-distance trucks and professional trucks just like Kenworth W900, right?

Yep.
The T800 use the same cab as the W900, and the T880 use the same as the T680 (if I remember well)

I always thought of the T800 as a sloped hood W900,for some reason.
