I would prefer the LT to HX anytime. If T680 can wait, so can the HX. The LT has this realism factor (traffic) too. Also, LT is a proper OTR model, the Lonestar isn’t, which would make International and Western Star the only brands which lacks OTR models.

Both the LT and the LoneStar are for on-highway and OTR applications. The only differences is that the LT is fleet-spec and the LoneStar is owner/operator-spec.

Makes me ask, what exactly is the difference between the specs?

Fleet-spec has a low cost, high efficiency design intended to appeal to large fleets and trucking companies. O/O-spec are trucks with more traditional designs with things like chrome, lights, exhaust stacks, etc. They're more expensive and usually less efficient, but they're intended to appeal to owner/operators who are buying their own truck for themselves. They're more like novelty trucks where people buy them for their looks.

Okay got it. I mistook all trucks which doesn’t have a sideskirt to be vocational 😅 Thanks for the explanation.

Any truck can be specified for anything. You just have to pay for it. Either you pay less or you pay more. There are certain trucks that are geared toward OTR or vocational but any truck can swing either way. If we had a few more options, it would take us a tad deeper into customizing our trucksl Things like rear end differentials, turbos and modifiable gear ratios, maybe even timing perhaps, we'd have the ability to transform any truck into what we want for our intent. The 49x is obviously the most diverse that we have but I don't expect any truck outside of the HX and 122SD to ever come close to that. Fleet type trucks won't go too much beyond the Cascadia more than likely.

Lonestar has max 605HP while LT has max 565HP. So one suited better for heavy duty while other suited for normal duty (fuel saving). Also on stock options Lonestar doesn't have an option for International engine. It's cummins only while LT has both specs.

The latter thing is sorta why an unusual truck isn't going to be "fleet spec", though. Fleets are focused on cost-efficiency; they aren't going to pay for everyone to have super-customized trucks unless it's somehow demonstrated to be cost effective, and even then that would just make it the fleet-spec.

The reverse should logically work, though; I don't see anything preventing an owner-operator from using a more 'typical' truck.
