Next ATS truck speculation

That’s an excellent point re: numbers @Freeze338. On this thread we also talk about branded trailers which could make an appearance- further taking resource away from truck making. However maybe that’ll be the first thing to come out in 2022 which will be a nice thing to have.

If ATS gets only one truck this year...so be it. It is what it is. But that doesn't mean that multiple trucks are not in the works. SCS already said several for both games are in the works. So could that mean multiple trucks per game next year if this year doesn't do it.....sure. I'd like to think so. If not, wait wait more. Not the end of the world. But SCS still has to get approved to release no matter what.

Also someone told that there’s one group in the vehicle department which works only on ATS trucks. So it is reasonable to expect at least one truck for ATS every year. Something is better than nothing. We got the one truck. Anything more we get this year is pure bonus.

Yeah that word spread around here a few weeks back. ATS has a dedicated truck team as well as teams that works trucks for both games. Considering ATS is well behind in truck roster, I'm not surprised it has a dedicated team. More parts and pieces to do with a conventional truck. So ideally, one could always think 2 trucks a year for ATS. I'd like to think there are at least (3) truck teams but that would be a wild guess/wishful thinking. At least (3) sets of interior/exterior models. The graphic artist could be shared I'd imagine. I find it hard to believe that the team that works both games is only (1) three man team. But, I don't work there so I don't know. With the way trucks kicked out last year, there's definitely more than just 2 trucks teams.

I still don't understand why are you guys not counting 49X released in this year ? Pre release was meaningless. The truck finished in early 2021. If there isn't pre release because of the Western Star launch, the truck will come in this year. So it belongs 2021.

Yes the 49X was completed this year.To me,there's a difference between a release and completing the model.
I still think the truck released in 2020.

For me, the 49x is a 2020 truck. The polish up, is just the polish up. The truck that we got day one is the release and that configuration is the only one I'd ever drive. Other than 8x4, the truck was complete for me.

Well guess who is working on that truck until 2021...

Vehicle team...

3 interiors, 2 more cabs, different hood types depending on SBA and SFA etc etc. Even if it released in 2020, vehicle team worked that truck in 2021. The amount of work for the rest is more than making it from zero to first launch. That's one of the reasons we are not getting one more truck in 2021. If they haven't touched after the release, we'll see VNL teasers all over the place right now .

I'd generally count the Renault T Evolution and 49X upgrades as half of a truck, personally. While it's true they're not strictly 100% new, they did use similar resources, and the Evolution was certainly treated as a significant release. Same for the DAF XF, if it doesn't end up coming out this year. As a flipside to that, though, I would also count the debut of the 49X and DAF XG to be "half of a truck" as well.
