Wow, I've actually never seen the ultra high roof on the 5700, neither in pictures or in real-life. This is literally the first time I've laid eyes on one. It makes sense that the article I got this picture from says the truck runs in Michigan because the max GVW there is 164,000 pounds, so the larger sleeper wouldn't be a problem for the weights there.

I'd honestly be very surprised if SCS includes this cab in the game given how rare it is.

The longer wheelbase should naturally feel more comfortable when compared to Freightliner, despite having the same drivetrain. The only thing I don’t like about the truck is the wood grain in the dashboard. Wish it could be a little less glossier like the Freightliner or a black trim like the 4900.

The brochure shows the truck is available with a black dash, in what appears to be a brushed metal finish.

I disagree with being 5700s ultras being rare. The ultras are all over the place. I doubt SCS skips this. When I met SCS at GATS in 2019, there was a black 5700 ultra roof they took pics of. I see us getting the ultra, the high and daycab.

@flight50 Of all 106 listings on the site you linked, I only saw two ultra high roof 5700s, and they weren't even semi trucks. They were rigid straight trucks for an expedite application. If those are all the listings for the entire US, that to me shows that it's a rare cab.

I was about to come in and say "Are you blind? i can see a bunch of Ultra's on that link Flight50 shared" but then my dumb self noticed the difference, 98% of the trucks with the tallest roof on that link are all High Roof's with an "aero spoiler" on top (like the 389 in the game), while the Ultra Roof is actual extra interior space up top and back 😂 and as you say, the only 2 Ultra's on that page are the 2 expedite trucks 😅

Thanks for sharing. I didn’t remember seeing this and had another mishap with the (semi-) configurator

I’d be quite surprised if the Ultra sleeper is common. It’s large, heavy and loooooooong. Could be popular with O-Os but fleets, I doubt.

Ahhh. I can retract my statement. My bad. I just logged into my desktop and I can see much better than my cel that I used to get that link. I can see the difference now. Your right though. All those have the aero kit on top of the high roof and these are in fact the ones I see, not not the ultra. I'm cool will the high rise with and without the aero spoiler, a flat roof and then the day cab. I think we could get at least 3 variants.

This is not black. When you see on top of the steering wheel, it's same color with the dash. On the other hand 4700 has a black daahboad option so 5700 might have same option as well. I'm not sure tho.

5700XE's dash has "wooden" finish by default. But I have contacted a few dealerships and they see no issues in refitting black panels instead. Even for already used trucks. (Most claim to be able to do the swap in less than an hour)
As for the ultra high roof: it's a custom order only option. Probably that's why they are so rare.
Some dealerships however offer the option of "masking the connection" between roof and aero cap, so you can make the truck look like it's ultra high.
I have to admit, I'm very positively surprised with Western Star dealerships' flexibility. You really get a lot options to customize your truck out of the box.
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.
