Agreed. I've always said at least bring 2 models per brand before doing a 3rd with a manufacturer. Ultimately, I'd like 21 models at least.
1) aero - fleet, modern day
2) classic - old school boxed
3) heavy duty

Not all brands have all 3 unless you go back to out of production trucks. I'd like to think this is where SCS is about to take it. With 21 trucks, everyone is bound to have at least 1 go to truck at that point. 21 is a lot more than just 4 trucks that started the game off year one. So ATS is just under half way to 21. By the time the MidWest is completed in the US, I don't see why 21 can't be possible. That is 11 trucks from now. If we got 2-3 a year, we should have 11 trucks well before the MidWest is completed.

Kenworth T800, Kenworth T880, Kenworth W990 are still mass-produced trucks, right?
Hopefully in the future America Truck Simulator will add these trucks: Freightliner 122SD/Century/Columbia/FLD/Cascadia/Coronado, Kenworth T800/T880/W990,Volvo VNX740, International HX520/ ProStar, and MACK Pinnacle, MACK Titan.

The W990 is still fairly new. But all 3 are still in production. The T800 is actually still going strong. Lot of them still around pulling heavy loads. The T800/T880 is like the W900/W990. No replaced but something more modern.

Because that’s what it is, you can spec a T800 like a W900 and have a nice OTR tractor unit with SBA and better visibility.
I have approximate knowledge of many things

Indeed. The T800 looks quite nice spec'd as an OTR tractor unit.

Alright, I had to take a step back to think about the poll again. After factoring in common sense, here are my new votes:

1.) Volvo New VNL
2.) Freightliner Cascadia (2007-2017)
3.) This one is quite hard! My gut says Western Star 4900 but I think it will end up being the 5700 for marketing purposes. I vote 4900! (I would happily welcome both to release at the same time)

What's everyone's thought on SCS releasing trucks in pairs by manufacturers in the near future? For example: Freightliner Cascadia (2007-17) + Freightliner 122SD.
Didn't ATS kick off with the 579 and T680 available at launch?

I think trucks released in pairs are kind of a rare occurrence. It’s most likely to happen with 2 versions of more or less the same truck (like the Scanias in ETS2), so I could see the new VNL and VNX potentially release as a pair. Maybe Kenworth W990 and T880 as SBA/SFA counterparts?

I think some past trucks could have been paired if it wasn’t for fast-track releases. The 49X in both SBA and SFA forms for example, or the new DAF XF and XG in ETS2.

Talking about wishes, I would really like it if the new 579 and T680 were released as a pair. They are largely the same trucks anyway, and since the originals were the first two trucks in the game it would make sense. I’ve been told before though, Kenworth and Peterbilt are two separate companies to negotiate licenses with (even if they are both Paccar), so the chances of a paired release are probably tiny.

Freeze338 wrote: 16 Sep 2021 15:00 Simple. 49X shares so many features with Freightliner Cascadia. So it gives a vibe like you are driving Freightliner instead of Western Star. But 5700 is completely unique. Normally WS makes classical type of trucks and it's the first aero truck that they have released. From interior to exterior it shares parts from history (such as sleeper, gauges etc) and future (such as smart steering wheel, dashboard computer etc.)

It's both looking classic and aero, it's a unique truck. It's like more Western Star unlike 49X
That's true of the old one, but the XE model doesn't have as much of that charm considering it also a Cascadia interior. And lets be honest, SCS would most likely be picking the XE version since they could fast track development since they don't need to make a new interior.

XE stands for "extreme efficiency" and is the only model in which the 5700 is available.
Also, the 5700 with Cascadia interior doesn't exist (yet). It's just a rumor.
