Seems like the only thing Mattel got right when they deigned that truck for Mack.

Though I agree about we all have our preferred models as I prefer Modern classics like the 122SD, HX and 4900 to name a few but tbh if the new gen 579 & T680 came out sooner than later then no complaints from me as I actually like the shape of them for a Aero truck.

Otherwise just give me a W model or a White Road Boss or Commander with a 3408 or Vt903 option in a classic DLC pack I'll be sweet. Old skool Superliner and Ultraliners would be good to for the classic DLC with a E9 525 option bop bop bop lol.

I like the way SCS' work on map and ambient. It feels like u drive in America. they even work on national parks and forests that prohibited to commercial trucking.

however, in truck's technically stuff, a major emptiness is always there. how these guys did not think to add a functional shifter into cabin ??

I saw a trucker guy in youtube that explains 18 Eaton Fuller and he says many truckers prefer manual for performance. If it's that common, SCS should not ignore that fact.

Can you guess how it would look if there was not a steering wheel in cabin in this simulator? Please guys, we need that shifter too, in cabin.

The shifter is a lost cause. Many of us want it but its not going to happen...at least no time soon. There was a tease for it when the Lonestar was in development as a screen shot for it was shown but in the end, it did not come. The shifter is just as controversial as having numbers on the distance marker signs that just came. There are pros and cons to both topics. Me personally, I'd be fine just having it there. It doesn't have to animate for me. I do wonder if DX12/Vulkan can open every single possible door for more immersion though. If the games can ever go multi core, a lot of things can happen in the background of the game running. More animations, deeper sim, better environmental interaction, better weather and season. Tracking of all sorts of things can happen.

I don't know if used trucks factors in with a better api as well but it was once noted that all trucks would have to be duplicated to have a used truck market. I think older trucks would be perfect. As ATS/ETS2 ages, trucks will to. Move them over to the used market at that point once their successor comes. So far, all Paccar trucks and the current VNL can fit in that category.

I really doubt the shifter has anything to do with performance, we know the Prism3D is not too great, but this is very basic

A shifter will double the number of interiors and this means some extra work. Some modders have put a shifter tied up with the transmission definitions, but this is very crude. Having a manual will need a shifter, an extra pedal and, more important, some changes on the dashboard like eliminating the PRND buttons and even a different layout of other buttons and screens. The first two can be tied up to the transmission defs, just like the modders did, but the third one cannot, so…

HX is available with both old C-loops mirrors and new mirrors. And the hood has nothing to do with it since is they are both door mounted.

International LT, WS 5700XE and Volvo VNL are the remaining pieces of the puzzle. My guess is we'll get the 5700XE first, then the LT and then the VNL (VNL is last 'cause SCS can't re-use the old model VNL cab with it's crap 3d quality... Therefore, they'll need to make it again from scratch).

I looked at the official websites of seven truck manufacturers, Freightliner, Western Star, Kenworth, Peterbilt, International, MACK and Volvo. I looked at the photos and homepages of each of these seven truck manufacturers, and I found Volvo VNL and Volvo VNR have hood rearview mirrors installed on the hoods. The original cars of the other six truck manufacturers do not have hood rearview mirrors installed.
Hopefully in the future America Truck Simulator will add these trucks: Freightliner 122SD/Century/Columbia/FLD/Cascadia/Coronado, Kenworth T800/T880/W990,Volvo VNX740, International HX520/ ProStar, and MACK Pinnacle, MACK Titan.

I wouldn't mind more vocational trucks.ATS isn't only about standard cargo, but also heavy haul and forestry.
