Re: Next ATS truck speculation
the new trucks will be separate models and not an upgrade to the existing ones, they cant do it because it would clash quality wise, the models will be build from ground up with data from Peterbilt and Kenworth send to them if they come to ATS

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
you mean like with the Man tgx, maybe but the tgx was old imported from ets1. The 2 Packard's made for ATL and are in better quality. The trucks could be upgraded like the way the daf was.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
look at the first 2 ATS trucks and then look at the 2 newest ones, wont happen, the XFs just got a few new accessories, the 2 new PACCAR trucks got a whole redesign on almost every corner, you cant just make it an upgrade to the existing ones because those are not facelifts like the XF and Tevo but new trucks

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
New Model 579 doesnt sound facelift-y to me, i dont really care what some news outlets says, what i read from Peterbilt is that it is a new truck generation but it still doesnt change the fact that SCS will build a new truck and not reuse the old ones, they most likely will never touch them again except maybe for a tuning DLC but not for a new truck
also, a facelift doesnt go through extensive camouflage testing

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
yeah I think they will make a new 579, Like it has a new dashboard! Theres no way to put on the old one! so I would leave the old one for tuning DLC or more while the new one has its own model.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
We never had FL Classic XL. Freightliner stopped the XL production in 2010 if I'm not mistaken.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
@Freeze338ATS didn't come out until 2016 yeah I know. It sounded good though huh, lol. In the beginning SCS could have went after whatever. Old trucks are not impossible to add to a video game. The game developer has to want to do it and the manufacturer has to be willing to allow it. If SCS never made a pitch for an out of production truck, guess what.....they won't get it and they won't be doing it.
Snowrunner - (i'm sure this is not all. The 49x is missing for sure)

Its not impossible to get a license for anything. Money talks and like I said, it takes two to make the deal go thru. Not one time has either one of us seen or heard SCS say NO, old truck won't happen. They don't talk about it publicly but I can assure you the thought has generated. Imo, Classics for dlc will sell. It'll take a year to create but unlike core content trucks, they can get paid for classics. Lots of money on the table for SCS if they tap into it. They do too much free stuff imho. Trucks, trailers, cargo packs and add on can make money just like maps if they took it there. Mods can be outdated and abandoned but if you have it officially from SCS, no worries.....they keep it updated 100%...every update. That's maintenance free that mods can't offer.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Re: Next ATS truck speculation
Except for the driveline (couldn’t say that even, the never models cannot accommodate 16 litre engines) and maybe the sleeper, everything is new in both the trucks There are a lot of structural changes too (like hood, sideskirts). So there’s no way it would be updated to the existing models as tunable options.gandalf7472000 wrote: ↑22 Apr 2021 20:36 No is a facelift

Also, the existing models aren’t dimensionally accurate, so this adds to that.
Re: Next ATS truck speculation
I’ve pointed this out before, if a game like Snowrunner can get licenses for old (and even some defunct brands) trucks, then there is no reason why SCS couldn’t.
I have to agree with Flight50 that it makes a lot of sense to do like a paid DLC that features multiple classic trucks or something. The fans would love it and cash in if done properly.
Because of this I don’t really buy the “we lost out on truck x because SCS didn’t add it before it went out of production”. It just doesn’t make sense for the truck brands to feature an older model if they get to have 1 or 2 trucks in ATS. Of course you would want ATS to showcase your latest and most advanced truck.
The only constraint I see for SCS is maybe they do not have enough people on their vehicle team to make new trucks for both games + work on classics for some DLC + negotiate licenses with brands. That said, SCS keeps growing, so maybe before too long they will have the above.
