That's actually pretty spot-on for real world owner-operator income.

I think you're right, I confused numbers with salaried drivers' income per mile

Going back to truck servicing, not sure if this is new to 1.32 or was implemented before, but if you edit bank_data file to put these:

coinsurance_ratio_base : 1.00
coinsurance_ratio_min : 1.00
coinsurance_ratio_max : 1.00

meaning 100% player's liability for repairs, co-insurance does not appear on repair screen at all and you pay full repair cost
:)

First off let me say i Like the game as is and appreciate SCS work.

However i feel like the economy is in need of some updates, and it seems very little changes on this part indeed.

Especially in ATS there seem to be next to no expenses apart from the occasional failed job for a driver and fairly cheap repair bill due to insurance. I feel like there should be more recurring costs (automatically deducting money) like your garage running cost, truck maintenance etc.

For ATS i strongly feel like there also should be an in-game option to turn insurance off, it makes it too easy. I don't get why this is not an option already since ETS2 has no insurance AFAIK (i'd rather not mess with game files)

Not sure if its economy related, but i feel ATS lacks cargo variety compared to ETS2. Even if its just a different cargo description, it doesn't necessarily need to be a unique trailer.

ATS definitely lacks cargo and I don't understand why. If def files are so simple and no palletes are being loaded, both games can share these cargo files. There are a couple of flatbeds cargoes but other than that, ATS needs much more variety in cargo and companies. At more maps come, more companies will as well. But even the state we have can be increased.

The worst thing about insurance, besides it being completely free for life, is that it covers normal wear and tear. It is completely fictional scenario and I find it really hard to understand why it is this way in the game that aims to be realistic trucking simulator.

I agree it should be in-game, however you can mod the values (which I've done).

And I think SCS should make jobs with trailer ownership more income compare to jobs in Freight Market. That make player have economic reasons to invest in trailers ownership.

Agreed. Should have been like that already. Trucks are like that vs quick jobs. Biggest thing for me is we need more wayss to burn thru more money and continuous expensive things. Cost of having a company should be sky high.
