International Trucks Discussion Thread
Re: International Trucks Discussion Thread
^Yeah but who all makes those chrome door reefers, lol. If only one manufacturer makes them, case closed. If several have them, its still a hunt for the logo to find out who. But yes I totally agree. It takes a trailer enthusiast to know the difference and the general public and most people that play this game, can't tell the difference with all logos striped from a trailer.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Re: International Trucks Discussion Thread
Pretty much, but I think the original conversation diverted (my fault, I guess). Pretty much trailers, trucks, etc. will be "copied" due to the whole "if it works" philosophy. If one company makes a breakthrough in aerodynamics and the customers like it, the other companies are going to use that as well to compete.
Back in the day when trucks were a work of art and all had such unique features to them, fuel wasn't really such a concern. But once fuel prices starting going nuts, it became not about looking cool and more about MPG. MPG is king now, unfortunately, and the days of having really unique trucks and trailers are long gone. To be honest I think we're still lucky to have some unique features still in play, like the Mack Anthem. But soon I bet even that line of trucks will start looking like all the others.

A couple of questions:
In Your opinion what's the best engine for a Lonestar with automated transmission (Eaton Endurant or Allison 4700), specially for Colorado/Utah uphills?
Front bumper sensors are functional in the game?

500 hp paired with Eaton should be ideal. It can pull any load efficiently.
IMO Eaton pulls better. Haven’t put the Allison into test in the hills but those can pull too, but aren’t as efficient as Eaton Endurant. And the sensor doesn’t function in the game, it’s just ornamental.

The 1850tq engines are good with the automated transmissions. The Endurant should theoretically do better as it has more gears to stay in the torque sweet spot. Keep in mind that all of the Eaton transmissions in game are actually automated-manual transmissions.

Re: International Trucks Discussion Thread
To be fair it will probably change as we go east.
right now most of the land we have in game is in the rockies, so lot of mountainous terrain, but as we go east, we will land in the midwest flatlands, where a 400 1650 engine can do the job for linehaul

^We still have the Appalachian Mountains to deal with in the East though. They are half the height of the Rockies but we'll still have mountains East and Southeast of the Midwest.

If we get the LT I hope we get A26 engine sounds instead of the Cummins.
Re: International Trucks Discussion Thread
Well either way it sounds unrealistic and we'll wait for Kriechbaum.
