Get rid of Salem....oh no, lol. We can't do that. Salem is no Carlsbad, California is which we can do without to expand LA. I'd much rather have Salem the way it is. The only distance that bothers me in the game, is Vancouver to Longview. But Spokane to CDA is even worse but what can you do. Imagine what the Eastern US states will be like. We can't have it all at 1:20 scale. There will always be one part that has to get left out in which someone thinks we can do without. For example. I did 3 options for what I think SCS's best chance are for DFW. Something will have to give but what. DFW will be the toughest for the devs to pull off of all the US metro areas. It doesn't have ocean or huge lakes as part of its coastline. If they can make space there, they can make it anywhere. Ironically that is perhaps 2-3 years away so we will see how all that unfolds.
@Bedavd thats a nice side by side. I am so happy that the right is what we are getting though. There is a massive amount of curvy roads in what SCS has done. Southern Idaho couldn't get much better. The only missing road is US-26 West of Idaho Falls that links up to US-20. I still think McCall should have been mapped though. Its nicer than Pioche, Nv and we got it and they are fairly similar sized. But the density in each city is what I will like. Grangeville and Pocatello seems like the surprises. They have a lot to them.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Re: ATS concept map (fanmade)
Salem is the capital city of Oregon, so it would be really strange if SCS didn't include it with the Oregon DLC. It's almost a given that the capital city will be included in every state for ATS and every country for ETS2.
Re: ATS concept map (fanmade)
Yeah, could be a bit strange
@Bedavd Hmm, what version is that?
I have missed saving the version that had Sun Valley as the name, for Hailey/Ketchum area. I did not save any versions at all in january, nor february. Same with april.
Early March version did not have Mountain Home and the road to Elko. Early May, has both.

Re: ATS concept map (fanmade)
I updated the map almost every time a new blog came out, so there were many versions. But the most interesting is to compare a version from december, 26, just before SCS started posting blogs about Idaho (so I didn't have any references, only my guesses).

So there were 10 cities (11 in reality), 8 of them I got right. Hailey is much larger than Ketchum, so it was unpredictable. Grangeville makes sense just to add US-12/ID-13. McCall could also be marked, there is enough space. Nampa is really close to Boise, so it was a good surprise.
Road from Elko to Mountain Home is also a surprise, no one expected this. CH-17/ID-21 would be a really good shortcut to Salmon. Also some small stretches of roads are not there: US-2 (Spokane-Sandpoint), connection from Pendleton and US-26 near Idaho Falls.
Overall I think it was very close.

Re: ATS concept map (fanmade)
Pendleton connection not in? Am not surpised at all.
What my prediction failed at:
Montpelier
Dubois? "Truck Stop + Rest Area" "Larsen Hay Terminal?!"
Island Park/Elk Creek Station "fuel?"
viewtopic.php?f=178&t=273819&p=1172978#p1172978
+ ID-21 and ID-28. So far, atleast.
County Hwy 17, always been a longshot.
