ATS 1.37 Discussion

The 1.36 thread got renamed which it shouldn't have so I am starting a solo 1.37. Perhaps the moderators want us to create a new 1.37 first then adjust things. I am not sure if they can start one to move things.

Edit: It was noted that I shouldn't have created a new thread. My thinking was it was best. Apologies to those offended.

Anywho......Confirmation 1, 1.36 ob is out and dx11 is our official render. Pavel mentioned that they will be doing a graphic overhaul the first half of next year. Old assets will be up to par for dx11 and future dlc. He stated that they can't continue with things that was made 5 years ago. I agree with the move and applaud him for pumping the brakes to catch things up.

Confirmation 2. The sound overhaul was said to come with 1.37 because there was too much going on for the remainder of this year to squeeze it in. Perhaps improved trucks sounds will be in. Ambient sounds, trains, perhaps weather sounds, tunnels and open windows sounds will be part of this.

Things we don't know about but I hope come:
More trailers for ownership - Utah isn't out so not telling what else 1.36 brings. Lowboy and tankers are highly demanded. SCS did swap over equipment cargo to the 3 axle lowboy that is used in HH and Forestry dlc. I love the move and it is the exact lowboy I wanted. I think lowboys are coming soon.

Weather overhaul - I'd love for weather to look like this video. I love to keep referring to this video because I can so see something like this in SCS games. If SCS started working already parallel to what's going on now, that would be sweet. Weather and perhaps a particle system now with dx11 should be possible. We should get improved weather and particle system perhaps well before seasons come.
Watch on YouTube
Seasons - don't even think about it. Too big of a task and is years away.

Rigids for ETS2 (I know this is ATS but hey) - I know the ETS2 guys have been waiting for years. Each year there is that one huge addition and they are all leading up to bigger things. 2017-doubles / was multi pivot, 2018 - trailer ownership, 2019 - dx11. I think rigids are due soon. If next year, could be 1.37 or 1.38. If not, well it is what it is.

Multiple drops - This is a high request and could also make 1.37. We sort of have something close and it works but a true multi drop would be sweet. Un-link doubles/triples and dock separately or reconnect and haul to location b.

AI Improvements - This can happen any update really. The AI is what it is and for the most part, I am okay. I am speaking for those of you that really don't like it. The only thing I want for AI is for more interaction on prefabs. SCS has a few in the game but I would like more. Like ATS truck stops and rest areas. Seattle port. Pull out of facility as we come in or we drive by them to go park as they are leaving or something. Also more crowded truck stops at night. I know performance is a factor here. Perhaps make as slider for people with pc's that can handle it. After all, we are on dx11 now.

New ATS trucks - We don't need 1.37 for this one. ATS trucks can come when ever. If we get 1 or 2 with 1.36 cool. If not, all prefabs are in except Daimler so if we every see that one, we know either a Freightliner is coming or Western Star.

Last but not least...........Idaho. Yep that's right. Idaho. I am anticipating Idaho to be announced for the 4th ATS anniversary around the first week of Feb. I would expect 1.37 to come sometime in the spring. Perhaps April or May. 1.36 isn't huge and feature packed but 1.37 can be. Washington released in June. If that team moved over to Idaho, that would be several months Idaho go work up til the spring. If Idaho doesn't make 1.37, it could definitely make 1.38. Idaho is a good size and brings lots of beauty. I bridges the PNW to Utah. There are not a ton of big cities in Idaho so that makes thing easier. Idaho also isn't heavy on road density so I'd think Idaho could drop in the Spring unlike Washington that dropped in the Summer. We shall see.

You pretty much covered all the major wishlist requested Flight only thing I would like to add to it is the possibility of dropping/hooking up LCV trailers individually. Would save time and money buying specific trailers every time when you can use the trailers individually to create the legal chain types.

Only other thing I like is more LCV types in AI traffic such as RMD's, T.P's, B-Trains & Triples in states that allow them. As we like the variety of different trucks in traffic I like the variety of LCV's as well.

@howey. I cover that one too. That is the multi drop I mentioned. RMD's was shown in Utah screen shots. They should be in for 1.36. I know TP and Triples are a bit more difficult. But if SCS can get those in, the AI should also get articulated trailers too.

I covered a lot yep, lol. But the only reason I think so much could come is because each of those is pretty much controlled by a separate team and several are in each group now. SCS is not exactly small anymore. Several projects can go on with each department.

sound overhall - sound department
graphic overhaul - I have no clue, programmers and asset modelers perhaps
trailers - vehicle team. They also have the one ATS licensed trailer pack in the works. Could it come with 1.36 though?
weather - programmers
rigids - vehicle team and programmers
multi drops - programmers. trailer models are done.
AI improvements - programmers. models are done
new trucks - vehicle team
Idaho - mappers and asset team

Now I could have some of these responsibilities wrong but its just an educated guess on by behalf.

Hey, that's the big request for ETS2 fans. I think they will be pumped about rigids as I was about the new Cascadia being teased by Carthoo last year.

@flight50 oh ok no worries mate. I had a different impression on Multidrop like in Delivering or Picking up cargo or multiple cargo from multiple spots/places. But if your incorporating all that in the one feature sweet as. I believe it can be doable next year with the added program software ability they were talking about in last week's stream.

About the AI RMD's I have yet to come across one in the beta. There was no mentioned of it in the beta log and the pictures that were in the Utah blogs I thought were the players vehicle. I hope I'm wrong about this and if anyone can show me them during their experience in the beta would be much appreciated. Unless their either waiting for the final version of 1.36 or Utah to introduce them I don't know if they are in the game or not.

Really can't do anything but agree completely with all points you mentioned @flight50. But i believe i heard how Pavel mentioned a possible release of 1.37 early next year, so possibly more towards February i guess (which also makes sense because October to February would mean a gap of 4 months, a typical time span between two major updates). But to be sure i'm gonna rewatch that part of the stream.

@Quark. Pavel did indeed say early next. But the problem is.....define early. We have yet to get one Jan, Feb or March that I recall since playing ATS. The biggest reason I say Spring is because Jan is slow. SCS is just getting back to work from the holidays. 1.36 will go live worse case early to mid Nov. Spring starts in March. We could get 1.37 there . I just said April/May as a fluff date. But if sounds will be ready for 1.37, there has to be more that comes with it is my thinking so pushing out 1.37 to get some more stuff in makes sense to me. A few other smaller features at the least to come with sounds would work.

@howey. Actually I only thought of multi drop as in drop off. Not multi pickup but I do like that idea. So pickup more cargo for a single trailer or pickup another double or triple? That could work. I wouldn't be opposed. Good idea.

In regards to RMD, I too thought player RMD in the below screen shot, butttttt, if you look at the below image, you will note there are (2) RMDs in red and (1) pup double in blue. At least I think the blue is a pup. Otherwise there are (3) RMDs in that shot. It is impossible for a player to be (2-3) RMDs. They didn't mention RMDs in the ob but the public release of 1.36 isn't out either. Before everything is set in stone, there could be a little more to 1.36. They only gave the public certain things in ob. They will never give the public a truck. That is an internal and beta testers thing. RMDs for AI is one and I am keeping my fingers crossed for the Lonestar debuting for 1.36. Not doubt it will but will it come with Utah or later in 1.36. For 1.37, if another truck brand takes over a prefab, then great.

@Knightrider. That makes two of us. Fmod could be just that huge of an upgrade to wow a lot of us. Environmental sounds in layers would be sweet. I am most excited about trains having sounds. I have never heard a silent train, lol. If they could squeeze out getting a few more cars to increase train length, that would be great as well.

@flight50, not unusual that they release bigger updates (very) early in the year, for example update 1.34 this year, it came out on 20th of
February. Or on January 11, 2018 when they released 1.30 but granted this particular update was more of a list of bugfixes and some improvements but didn't
include any real content as far as i can tell. I agree March for 1.37 sounds maybe a bit more likely than February though.
