Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
Am I the only one who is in a doubt if I should go for US550 or I70 for the first trip?

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
Years before I moved here, my first trip into Colorado was on US-40 from Vernal, UT. I'm thinking of repeating this for my first time visit in ATS.
Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
@fisherjb no, you are not the only one. Those are my 2 most anticipated roads hands down. But based on my game play, it would end up being I-70 for me. With each new dlc, I always setup my HQ in the largest or most popular city for the dlc.
NM-Albuquerque
OR-Portland
WA-Seattle
UT-SLC
ID-Boise
CO-Denver
So once Colorado comes it will be Denver. I never cheat and teleport. I drive from the current HQ to the new location I want. So I always go for a load that gets me to (x) city or very close to it. By freight market, contract, cargo market....whatever gets me to Denver is what I take. So I'll be going I-84 to I-15 and then down to I-70 to take the entire thing all the way into Denver.
Somehow, I will make my next load on US-550. So from Denver to Farmington, Gallup, anywhere in Arizona or Southern California. Then its probably US-40, US-160, CO-14 (if in) and then the Great Plains.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
@flight50 Just admit you want to see Glenwood Canyon and the Eisenhower Tunnel! Boise to Denver can be accomplished with slightly less miles through I-84 to US-40, though the quickest way involves a big chunk of I-80 that won't be released until Wyoming DLC.
Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
I've got my headquarters in Denver via C2C and I avoid it like the plague unless I'm changing trucks. It will be nice to have a fleshed out Colorado. Looking forward to the next blog.
To add onto Xaagon's even then US 6 over Solider Summit is quicker then 15 to 70. But we know Flight gotta get on that hot 70 action.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
@Xaagon Yeah I could go that route but for me, its not about the quickest route. At least not for that first trip from that direction. I want to purposely take I-70 from I-15 to Denver. I want to be able to put the entire stretch of I-70 that SCS has in the game in my route for that HQ move. The times I have take I-70 from I-15 is a lil sad when I have to get off on US-191. I am so ready to keep rolling on I-70, lol.
Its really all of I-70 for me. Glennwood Cayon is just the icing on the cake The tunnel would be cool as well but if and only if SCS gives it justice and gets real good elevation on that route. I want my truck to feel the grades really in all of Colorado. I've watched Freeway Jim's video to many times of I-70 and I am really anxious to get that road in ATS. Of course it won't compare to the real thing that you guys get to drive, but considering I've never been on it in real life, what SCS does is a good as I can get.
I think Colorado will be the first state I discover the fastest. I'll break all my own rules for Colorado, lol. Instead of taking 1-2 months to explore it all, it could be 1-2 weeks, lol. More blogs will just make the wait tougher. I'm ready to see landscaping blogs. Let me see those Rockies .

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
I suppose I take I-70 a bit for granted. Glenwood Canyon is still awesome. The Eisenhower Tunnels are impressive too, but it's been years since I've been through them... from Colorado Springs I'll take US-24 to I-70 instead as I would hardly ever have a reason to go to Denver first before turning west. If I don't need to go to Denver, then I'd prefer to just avoid the traffic.
