Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
If we get to haul blades it will be an addition to the oversize dlc. I don't know if the cargo will be spawn only in Colorado or not.
And don't forget that this Industry will be and in Iberia dlc to. So the Assets will probably be common for both games. So I go for the small to medium length blades

There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

Looks more exciting, even though that picture was posted before I’m pretty sure. I think the Great Plains will be exciting and offer there own beauty.
Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
flight50, yeah, maybe something like that trailer
NTM's B-Double Telescopic Skeletal Container Carrier. Youtube video on how it works. W & S thread.
B-Double trailer and short modes: EN 7.82 swap body, 20’ or 30’ containers.
Standalone 40' mode: EN 7.82 swap body, 20', 30', 40' or 2 x 20' trailer.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
Well it took me awhile but I found the reference I was looking for. The lowboy I mentioned on the previous page is considered as a 3+3+3 which pretty much means a 3 part trailer with 3 axles each. The below is a good enough go by I suppose. The nominal length for this setup is about 112'-6" (34.3m). So if we got a blade that would go from like the dolly/jeep's nose all the way back to the booster/spreader/stinger, whatever you want to go by, then we could effectively haul about a 100' to 105' blade without overhanging. Add some overhang and we pushing about a 115' blade. It all depends on the mounting and it really depends on if SCS tried to use such a trailer or create a tube trailer which is more suited for the job. The HH really isn't the proper trailer to haul blades but they do work for the rotor, the generator and the tower. Ideally a minimum of 100' blades and tower can get hauled in ATS with this wind farm industry. We should have fun with that. But what won't be fun are components that are pretty much half the length they should be.
Maybe SCS makes their size more respectively sized, maybe they won't. Imho, if its going to come and be a part of the game, might as well do it more realistically. The models can take some modifications.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
On my trip out to Colorado for the wedding, I actually saw a bunch of turbine blades being transported by truck and oh man was that neat and gigantic
(I keep trying to attach the picture I took but I keep getting an 'http error' does anyone know how to fix this/what to do?)
EDIT: After getting necessary things done today I just uploaded the pic instead of dealing with the attachment, so here is the wind turbine blade transport that I saw and would love if this gets added with colorado https://imgur.com/a/bTCKUUI
This would also be another use for 8x4 or 8x6 chassis if those ever get added.

^are you using an image hosting site? You can't use the image option here to post a pic. There are limitations and it will get removed.

If you're getting an HTTP error, they usually means that the file extension of the image isn't supported by the attachment feature on the forum. While it's not technically against the rules to use the attachment feature as an image host in this particular section of the forum, it would be better if images were hosted externally om sites such as Imgur or Flickr.
Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
Oh really that's interesting, because I was able to post the screenshot of the CO 64 sign on the ingame map. But I was just trying to upload it from my computer after I saved the pic from my camera's sd card. I wanna say it's a jpg file so could that be the reason?

Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
Hmm... That is indeed interesting. .jpg files should work.
Re: Colorado Discussion Thread
In case anyone is wondering about the blade transport picture, I edited my previous post (#1105) with a link to it versus making a brand new post about it
