Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
You could, but then it would be smaller than the bumper and thus unrealistic as the bumper would be able to go through the ground.

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
the collision box could be formed like the bumper but it wouldn't really change anything, the bottom of the bumper would still be scraping over anything that is higher then ground clearance

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
Nah, that's collider boxes and they're supposed to be there. I was theorizing that maybe there's a float or rounding error which causes the engine to register a collision between colliders inside the model (because I never noticed Anthem actually clipping the ground when it took damage), but the game doesn't have nearly enough debug tools to troubleshoot that, and developers don't seem interested in fixing it. It may be as simple as the front trapezoid collider extending past front axle just that tiny bit farther than, say, in VNL model (which has largely similar configuration, iirc). As I said, set suspension stiffness to maximum (default) value, use heavy duty tyres and drive slowly. It won't eliminate the issue completely but will mitigate it enough to be somewhat tolerable.HagenXXV wrote: ↑15 Oct 2021 18:53 Is a good point, when your truck does not have the necessary power for a certain load, it launches a verification alert and suggests you to go to the nearest workshop before accepting. Why doesn't it throw a check alert when I use an Anthem, LT or Cascadia on loads located on dirt roads? It doesn't because the game believes that all trucks, regardless of their configuration, are suitable for any road; but this is not really the case.
The bumper of those 3 trucks have something invisible that damages the truck on dirt roads xD I can't explain it in another way you know more about it because of the explanation you gave in the thread dedicated to that, mate. That light red colored thing is what damages the truck when it makes contact with the potholes on the dirt road:

Robinicus, where can we find the Mack Anthem Legacy that will work with 1.42? 2.81 didn't work out too well. I had it and only got to run it twice before it quit working.

@GT182 - I just posted the links the other day - viewtopic.php?f=200&t=304892&p=1621629#p1621629
If you are going to run the tridem Anthem with the ARI you need to play with the axle weights or it will plow pretty bad...I bumped the steer axle by 5k and the drives by 1k to get the right feel

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
After a long time using the Anthem, I have a question...
Is it realistic the way the RPM on the MP8 sits that high when cruising at 65mph?? I just found it odd because with almost every other truck, the RPM sits at around 1100 or 1200 tops when at cruise speed but the Anthem, however, it stays at 1450 to 1500 RPM which impacts a lot on my fuel consumption. I tried with both MDrive transmissions and both rev high when at 65mph... I was curious to know if it's the same IRL.
And on another topic, it's possible that we get the Pinnacle sometime before 2022 ends, given SCS recently met up with Mack representatives at Allentown, PA to do business.

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
No way an OTR spec-d truck (450-500 hp, 12 speed OD) revs at 1500 rpm at 65 mph IRL. 1100-1200 is ideal. It was implemented right only in the Daimler Trucks. Even the LT revs in the higher range but at least that one is fuel efficient. On the other hand, Anthem (and VNL) drinks so much fuel.
The same is the case with the 13-speed Paccars. For them, I use the 18-speed gearbox.
I too think Pinnacle might be next, though I don't disregard other possibilities.
