Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
Yeah, it's an issue which is "known", which means "ignored".

Anthem is the only truck with which you have to set g_suspension_stiffness to 1, use heavy duty tires and drive slowly. Or at least it was at the time, no idea about Cascadia or LT.

LT can get damage, but only on awful mountain roads like that one East of Bellingham. I haven’t notice any problem on flat and bumpy farm roads.
I do agree that Anthem is a highway truck so obviously it cannot safely climb to Bellingham logging camp, getting damage on a puny farm road is too much tho.

I have approximate knowledge of many things

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
tbh the anthem isn't made for offroad to begin with. maybe at construction or farms but might be mostly daycabs would be used. so I guess it could be a problem if its only a small dirt road.

Precisely! That's exactly point I'm talking about...pigbrother wrote: ↑15 Oct 2021 11:53I do agree that Anthem is a highway truck so obviously it cannot safely climb to Bellingham logging camp, getting damage on a puny farm road is too much tho.
Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
@J.Random I read the thread and was perplexed by the answers you were given, brother. , the Anthem has a problem and that is that it is always going to suffer damage on dirt roads, unless you use wide tires on the front axle, I have a question for people who think the Anthem is not designed for roads of this style, why don't I get an alert when accepting a job from a forestry or oil depot that says: "you cannot perform this job because your truck was not built to roll on the type of roads on the route selected in the current job, use another truck."
No need to go to Bellingham, go to American Lines in Cheyenne, there is a railroad crossing that will always damage the Anthem, Cascadia and LT, unless you go 1 kph, the limit on that road is 48 kph ((it is obvious that if you pass at that speed you will damage the truck, trailer and cargo).) I used the Anthem with the highest bumper the game offers, I went 7 kph and damaged the truck, I did the same exercise with the Peterbilt 389 with the lowest bumper and 25 kph, zero damage.

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
because the game doesnt care if your truck is made for offroad or not, it checks only if it can handle heavy loads not offroading

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
Is a good point, when your truck does not have the necessary power for a certain load, it launches a verification alert and suggests you to go to the nearest workshop before accepting. Why doesn't it throw a check alert when I use an Anthem, LT or Cascadia on loads located on dirt roads? It doesn't because the game believes that all trucks, regardless of their configuration, are suitable for any road; but this is not really the case.
The bumper of those 3 trucks have something invisible that damages the truck on dirt roads xD I can't explain it in another way you know more about it because of the explanation you gave in the thread dedicated to that, mate. That light red colored thing is what damages the truck when it makes contact with the potholes on the dirt road:

Re: Mack Trucks Discussion Thread
Only one other thing to do..... Use the "No Damage" option.

That red box is a collision box and when something makes contact with it, it shows damage to the truck. That is what it is suppose to do.
