FMOD Discussion [ATS]
Forum rules
SCS as a company do not wish to have paid mods on this forum. While we understand that not all paid mods use the Intellectual Property of other companies/people, it is very hard to moderate what is and isn't acceptable when money is involved. There are also concerns that it could look unfavorable to potential work partners going forward if SCS allow mods that may potentially use unlicensed branding.
Posting in the Mods forum (ATS and ETS2) is restricted to sharing free-to-the-public mods and providing support for mods. For more details, please check the Forum Rules.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ATS]
@Robinicus
Did you see that now we can choose the preferred audio driver ???
It is added to choose the output device, and they have added some checks to mark or unmark; the sound of the wind, the reverberation in the cabin, reverberation from the surroundings and the sound with the windows open. I am testing right now, and the truth is that I don't see any difference. Perhaps this part of the game is still unfinished.

I'm sorry friend. I had not seen him until today.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ATS]
Info on migrating existing mods to new version; my suggestion if you are going to install the updated version is to do it as a second install. This approach will let you open existing work still using 2.07.00 (you need to use open from the menu in FMOD; double-clicking on a shortcut will default to 2.01.01) and simply copy banks/events etc over to a new version of your mod made in 2.01.01 as a safety measure to protect your work during transition.
Once you migrate your work to the new version, it cannot be opened in 2.07.00 any longer...take whichever approach you feel most comfortable with but be forewarned about the impacts of your decisions.

The other considerations are that the SCS template does not work fully with the new version; you will get a master bank only with none of the engine or interior banks/events/assets. For any existing work, you could also consider trying what I am working on which is making copies of existing 2.07.00 work, renaming it and then converting; as I am still having 1.38 game crashing I can't fully test the results of this approach but will update you all when I can.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ATS]
Thanks @Robinicus
In the coming week, I will post the engine mod I finished for ETS2 and then make copies of my work, and join the testing with the new Fmod.
I will leave the 2 versions of Fmod to start testing with 2.01.01. But first of all I will copy all my works to another disk. Furthermore, the previous Fmod version is the one currently being used for the European simulator.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ATS]
Everyone will probably find this information useful as well; this shows what is new in 2.01.
Action sheets are probably the biggest one for us as it allows better trigger control without having to mess as much with parameter & magnet "tricks" that we have had to use to this point.

The other area I will be working on a fair bit is effects chain panning as a workaround to some of the positional settings SCS has chosen (i.e. engine sound source location in cab) that many of us find undesirable. Will report on outcomes when I have some good solutions developed.

Re: FMOD Discussion [ATS]
Will affect this new FMOD version to FSB Extractor?
Re: FMOD Discussion [ATS]
@Jatruck - I don't believe so; the tool itself is from a few years ago and it has worked on every version of FMOD I have ever tried it on

Re: FMOD Discussion [ATS]
For now I will stick with 2.07.00 until there is a SCS template for the new version
