The only problem I see from a rebuild like some are talking here with lots of changes, viewing from SCS side, what does that gain for SCS? There would be loss of man hours rebuilding something to the extent some want, that could be spent on the next DLC that makes SCS some money. So I wouldn't think they would go to a great extent updating some things. I hope I am proven wrong by SCS, but proving a large update of the original map area will cost them monetarily substantial man hours with nothing really in return.

^You have to think one step further. The rebuild is not just to upgrade the map for current players, its to promote better quality for future players. Is the quality of the rebuild that is more convincing to buy all paid dlc's. That's the gain for SCS.

If one plays the demo of the current California and Nevada primarily speaking......then you turn around and see Colorado, Utah, Idaho and so on, that's a night and day difference. People could possibly be more hesitant or avoid to continuing to support SCS. The rebuild restores confidence in a thorough product.

Rebuilding the base map can make people buy the game if they don't have it,or make people who stopped playing come back(and probably buy paid DLCs if they don't have one or more).
So,more money for SCS in both cases.

The old saying is...you have to spend money in order to make money. So a few man hrs now for 2 years or so, can bring profits 13-15 years from now. In order to by all the US states, all of Canada and all of Mexico, one must start with a base map. That base map should be on par with the rest of the maps.

The military base along he 62 would make it worthy to have in the game and as another connection between the 10 and 40 and not keep that area so empty.

Also the 247 if Palm Springs is added created a main route without having to drive back towards Los Angeles and it is a heavy trucking route,

That and the 14 as a freeway is a must.

Anything military is more than likely out. I wouldn't anticipate it. There's usually other things to take up the slack.

Isn’t there a vague scenic military base between Las Vegas and Tonopah? I might be mistaken, but I think there is one.

I honestly doubt that we will see a detailed military base in the future, but a I wouldn’t count out a hint of one if it’s far enough from the road.

@Tristam-94, do you mean Area 51? ;)

I wish more airports would be added. A lot of freight is moved by air all over the world. And how does this freight reach airports? Mostly by truck and truck/trailer combinations.

So far SCS has avoided most military things. The exceptions I can think of is one military installation in Arizona (off US-95 I think?), and military jets flying over Elko.

However, I could see an Area 51 easter egg... make it look like the one in the last Indiana Jones movie perhaps?

That one on the right just when you exit Las Vegas going to Beatty and Tonopah? Yeah, Creech Air Force Base. Groom Lake is 75 kilometres away. :)
