Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
An exit at Baker with a rest stop will be a must, especially if that rest area is the parking lot for the Mad Greek Cafe (CDL 20% off), since it's right across the street from the thermometer (how cool would it be to see that work in ATS?) and near Alien Fresh Jerky. What a weird town...

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

actually it does. some bridges are just the same and the cities are inaccurate too
Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
The Colorado Plateau in Arizona could really do with some improvements, for more realistic road alignments, elevation changes, and scenery. I-8 could also do with a realignment (and Telegraph Pass), and the southeast of the state may be better off redesigned (maybe replacing San Simon with Douglas, connecting the 191 to the 10, adding Texas Summit, etc). Arizona may not need as much work as the rest of the base map, but it could really use the same attention.

@parasaurolophus67 these are details, so partially reworking Arizona is yes, but most importantly, California and Nevada need to be reworked
Re: Base Map Rebuild (CA, NV, AZ) General Discussion Thread
Arizona needs at least a 50% make over. Cities and roads. Inaccuracies, majority of the background mountains, new road segments and finish off road segments. Its less work than California and Nevada, but at the least, it needs New Mexico/ Oregon quality.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Arizona is certainly better than California or Nevada, but I think it needs some love. The jump in quality in between Arizona and NM would leave it feeling really REALLY outdated once California and Nevada get up to snuff. New Mexico can stand being at the bottom because, imo, it's really not bad quality at ALL.
If we reach a point in ATS where New Mexico is the least quality state, we're in a very good position I'd say

I would love to see Prescott and Lake Havasu (City).
SCS would need to add the AZ-95 for Lake Havasu, but at least the I-10 Exit 17 in Quartzsite is already there. Maybe they could replace Exit 1 with Exit 9 on I-40 and put it right behind the (currently missing) Port of Entry.

Kingman needs to be rebuilt and Phoenix the core part is fine, but some of interchanges need to be replaced like Buckeye Rd and Thomas Rd widened, but US-60 shifted south of Phoenix.
Think California especially south of Sacramento with I-5, CA-99, US-101 but It's they will avoid the cities for part 2 and 3 till Texas is wrapped up.
California and I-80 corridor should be focus for the next few updates. I think rebuilding the map can happen over the next couple years without problems.
