Regarding CA-1, it's, complicated. Most of it is ok, more or less.

Travelling from Medford, Oregon to Fresno, California on the interstate 5, I was saddened to see that the rebuild of the base map of Northern California did not include the travel centers (ie truck stops) at intersection 745/Eastern side (Petro, 94 truck spaces) and intersection 673/Eastern side (TA 196 truck spaces). It is a long haul from Medford to Corning for there to be no truck stops. The Weed rest area should be replaced by a Pedro truck stop as the actual real life rest area is north of Weed. I still think it should be possible to include all the big truck stops even with the scaling constraint.

@ Shiva, Is it? O'Brien is situated well south of Shasta near the shores of Shasta Lake. See linked google map (c) of the Weed, North California area. Weed rest area is north of Weed while the Pilot travel center is 2 miles south of the township of Weed. At present the rebuild map has a rest area just south of Weed that only north bound traffic access.

I apologise in advance if this is the incorrect way to submit a reference to another web site.

The one that is scenery north of Weed is Randolph E. Collier Northbound and Southbound Rest Area
They did not include that Pilot due to the scale.
Cities take space, sadly.
But atleast they did include Pit River Bridge, over Shasta Lake this time.

CA Reskin part I is really a big step forward. Only complaint I have are the ancient super low res mountain models you can spot in the background at several places. Hope they are getting replaced sooner than later. It's an immersion killer.

^make a bug report about the low res. Sometimes they will make adjustments when they are close to the main road.

@_Roger_

You and I may have different expectations of CA rebuild.

I told it could be finished in 3 months with 12 people if I consider that this rebuild does not include cities. If it's only a graphical improvement in %10 of roads, why it should take that long?

However responsive people in forum showed me the link that SCS will work on cities. This changes everything.

You did quote 2x times the same things that I've written before people sent this link about cities.I've already written.

According to my expectations CA rebuild should be a detailed work like Sierra Nevada in terms of city, environment and roads. Also graphically conforming to 1.41.This work that I am talking about is not something to be done with 3 people.

Although what I'm talking causing a meaning as I am dissatisfied with the rebuild work, it actually creates a paradox for many people who think like me. the CA that I want them to finish quickly may not be of good quality compared to the new maps.So if SCS has a schedule they can handle, they know best.

We can see the impact of this in ETS2. Older content is lack of quality.

New California looks great, I'm sure we'll get 3 phases of California, 1. Northern CA (already reworked)
2. intermediate CA + all cities
3. Southern CA

3 months is wayyyy to optimistic though. Even with 12 people. It takes much much longer than that. It can take 1-2 weeks to cover (1) mile. There is not much automation going on to make it faster. If you have hundreds of miles across a good amount of sectors, the map time won't be making 3 month release even without the cities. They are not doing 10% graphical changes to roads. They are changing the entire section of roadway. At least in ph 1. Even Arizona would get much more than 10%. 10% is like signage and textures. You have to add vegetation for front, mid and back ground. You have rockscaping for front, mid and back ground. You have bodies of water...bridges, major interchanges, truck stops, rest stops, agricultural check poings, landmarks, etc. That is much much more than 10%

California should get much more than 3 phases. We didn't get a ton for phase 1 and it didn't even address I-80. We could be looking at 4-5 phases at least.
