Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
If they plan to add the new Kenworth T680 and Peterbilt 579 in the coming years, I don't think it would be necessary to rework the old ones that have been in the game since the beginning (for now at least).
But I think the Kenworth W900 and Peterbilt 389 could really use it.
I'm a bit hesitant on the W900 honestly, since they could also add the W990 which is a more updated version of the W900, but the 389 really needs it in my opinion and does not really have an alternative in the Peterbilt lineup.
For ETS2 I would recommend them to rework the trucks that are currently available if necessary, and leave the discontinued models what they are for now.

Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
Everyone overstates how much the ATS trucks need a overhaul, they're way ahead of the bulk of the ETS2 fleet. The older ETS2 trucks are blatantly low poly in many places for example, I notice it with the mirrors in particular. The ATS trucks don't have such issues, at least not to the same extent, really I don't think any of the ATS trucks need redoing yet, especially not when ETS2 still has models from ETS1 still in the game.
That's a bad idea, the truck models most in need of replacing are the ones of models which are already discontinued. I think the better idea would be to redo one of the original four from ETS1 first, and work up from there from oldest to newest.Tristam-94 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2021 21:32 For ETS2 I would recommend them to rework the trucks that are currently available if necessary, and leave the discontinued models what they are for now.

Or, if they will redo the most two iconic US trucks, they can redo two iconic trucks from ETS2. Scania R/Streamline (since they are the same thing anyway) and... dunno, FH2009, XF105, Actros 2009? Two for each game, fair deal.
But I'm 99.99% sure they won't so it doesn't really matter.

Both the 389 and the 900 are current production models. Remaking discontinued ETS2 models is a completely different issue.

I know. But you don't want them because they are still in production, you want them because they are iconic.

The KW 900 could use a flat top sleeper like the 389 has. They do exist.

I don't want them at all, but they're extremely popular in the American community and SCS would be wise to pay attention to what Americans want in an American Truck Simulator.pigbrother wrote: ↑13 Sep 2021 11:06 I know. ^Well I wouldn't say cater to us Americans. I say cater to American Truck Simulator fans. There are tons of non Americans that want things as well.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

I'm not American either, I'm on a completely different continent, but I've been going to the US for years, and no matter what happens again or not, you have to represent America as much as possible in a game that's supposed to touch this continent in my humble opinion.
ETS2:promods + Middle-East Add-On + TGS / ATS:promods Canada

Re: Freightliner Trucks Discussion Thread
The problem with the 389 is how wildly inaccurate it is. Everything from the position of the headlights, the roundness of the bumper, the bullbar that is on top of a normal bumper, the horrible hood mirrors, misshaped battery boxes, missing def tank, and useless sleeper wall lights.
It's by far the worst truck in both games. The W9 needs work as well, but not as much. A few more options for visors and lights, the ability to take the rear step boxes off, fender options, rear light options, and exhaust options would be about all it needs plus one more sleeper.
