Please note that this drive took place on a Sunday and I was driving a vehicle while spotting so I’m sure there were more trucks on the road than what I’m reporting.

Here’s the general breakdown of what I saw:

1.) Freightliner Cascadia (pre-minor facelift + evolutions) and New Cascadia (I saw roughly the equivalent of both models— well over 200 of these during my 14 hour drive)
2.) Volvo VNL and New VNL (I saw roughly the equivalent of both models— well over 100 of these during my 14 hour drive)
3.) Kenworth T680 (about 100 or so)
4.) Peterbilt 579 (about 100 or so) Surprisingly, most of these were equipped with the UltraLoft sleepers.
5.) International LT (about 75 or so)
6.) International ProStar (about 45 or so)
7.) Peterbilt 389 (about 30 or so)
8.) Kenworth W900 (about 20 or so)
9.) Mack Anthem (roughly 15)
10.) Western Star 5700XE (4)
11.) International LoneStar (2 (1) on the Highway, (1) parked at a dealership)
12.) Spotted roughly 1-5 of each of these models (Columbia, FLD 120, Classic/Classic XL, Century, T600, T660, T800, 4900, (1) FLB, HX, (1) Granite, (2) CXU613’s, 567)

Surprisingly, when I entered Oregon and Washington, I didn’t see much of a Western Star presence. Unfortunately, I didn’t see these new models on the road:

•Western Star 49X
•T680 Next Gen
•New 579
this kind of infos are so important for both fans and SCS. for my own, I really appreciate. I believed w900's are more common until now. Their rareness surprised me.

W900's are more popular with Owner Operators. You can always find 1 or 2 when traveling for hrs though.

It also depends on what part of the country you're in. A lot of the W900s on the road either older pre-emission trucks or they're glider kids, which are new trucks with old refurbished engines in them. Both of those are not allowed in California, so you won't see as many W900s on the west coast as you would in other regions of the country.

It is just a numbers game; FTL has about 1/3 of the class 8 market and the lions share of their sales in class 8 are the Cascadia; the KW share is about 1/10 - 1/13 depending on the year and the 900 share of their class 8 split is typically in the 25-35% (depending on year) range. There are less regional biases in play on the 900 than there are on some trucks like the Anthem etc

@supersobes Believe it or not the w900 glider was not as popular as the Freightliner Coronado. Most of the W9's on the west coast are Cali compliant.

Were the new cascadia models the more dominant out of the other cascadia you saw?

PS:I saw the new t680 twice in New Mexico though i think it was the same model.
Take it with a grain of salt nothing is 100% sure

I know the question wasn't adressed to me,but i'm seeing more and more of the new Cascadia. To be honest,it might be equal(or close to it) for both old and new right now.

Lamar confirmed the same in the post.

I always wonder what makes Freightliners so popular than the competitors. I’ve also seen people complain about the ride quality (Freightshakers, duh) yet they are the market leaders. In the game though the Cascadia is a marvellous truck.

The numbers of old vs new Cascadias is probably location dependent, which is why i wrote a comment about what i see.

They're attractive to fleets because of their supposed efficiency. I wouldn't read any more into it than that.

Edit: Okay, yeah, this was a wild oversimplification, and probably not accurate
