I look at the battery amps and volts and the temperature of the coolant and oil. As the damage percentage of the truck goes up, the battery gets weaker and the engine runs hotter. Once the gauges get to a certain value (which can vary based on the truck), I know it's time to service my truck. For example, I know that my Kenworth W900 coolant runs at about 185 to 195 degrees Fahrenheit when the engine was recently serviced. If I notice that it runs hot for a long period of time (such as 205 to 215 Fahrenheit) even if I'm not running the engine hard, I know it needs serviced. In my International LoneStar, the battery will read at 13.7 volts when the engine RPM are at idling speed. Once that gets down to 13.5 or 13.4 volts, I know my truck will need a service.
Oh that's cool, I didn't know the gauges were that functional!

yes, some of them are linked to damage level of various truck parts.
on the top of my head ther is also air leakage (chassis damage) and exhaust temp (engine damage). you can dig for more.
you can also suggest few other that could be done with similar simple logic .. ;)
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

Regen on trucks pls :) And if you leave DPF filter full for quite some time, it goes in engine damage...
some trucks have DPF filter indicator so why not to implement DPF regen :)

The only 3 others I could think of (not sure what logic exists - if they are easy or not):

IAT - intake air temp - will derate & throw CEL - cracked air to air/piping
Coolant level - may derate depending on other params & throw CEL - cracked rad etc
Low voltage - warning light - damaged alt/battery etc

BTW, why is there no CEL (check engine light)?

One big one I can think of is
- air compressor won’t pump as much air (engine damage) until the engine is repaired. Say it usually cuts out at 120 psi, with engine damage maybe it’ll max out at 95-100 psi. Just a thought
So with the air leakage, this would provide encouragement to get the truck repaired ASAP as to avoid dropping too much air pressure

I might be wrong but I think this picture is showing a sleeper of the Western Star 49x?

Look closely at the mirror of the truck, you can see its a sleeper, and if you look at the area behind the windows it might be it... unsure however

Look here.

What made me think so is this comparison of the small window the sleeper have at the top, similar to the cascadia's cab.
However it can be an illusion created with the chromed smoke exhaust thing, so could be wrong pretty much.
