Back to ATS....I think this is a good week to get Pico wine or Shredder to be revealed. If we can get a WS in one of those dlc's, that would be awesome.

I think they're more likely to come after Colorado personally, new state then an event. I think SCS/WS might want the 49X to be the only WS over xmas and the gift event (or equivalent) this year will have pictures with that truck. Happy to be proven wrong though! :D

It doesn't make sense to hold a truck just because of a spotlight. Being ready or not should be what determines things. If I was Daimler, I'd want all my products out. There are several markets they target with multiple trucks, not just vocational for this 49X. There is the 5700XE and the 4900 for WS, there is the new Cascadia and the 122SD. So I'd want everything I have to be spread around on social media. Limiting to just the 49X for (x) amount of time when I have more trucks underneath my belt doesn't compute for me.

Correct me if im wrong but there was never evidence of supposedly ready-to-release content being held for "spotlight" purposes in either of SCS games. But still once in a while we see such theories taking traction here.

Just like the "manufacturer forbidding 8x4" rhetoric which was quickly debunked by SCS' SiSl.

People can play with a truck in a newly released map DLC ;) That way, both content is under the spotlight.
That's unless i don't understand what everyone means by spotlight.

@Knightrider you are correct. I don't recall it being that way either. But I wouldn't say SiSl debunked it quickly, lol. Since 2018 when ETS2 got 8x4, I and a few other have been talking about ATS and 8x4 and even 4x2. SCS could have said something a long time about. Now 2+ years later, SiSL confirmed it. I'm not sure he was suppose to though but at any rate, its said. Maybe SCS does want to get all brands into ATS for 8x4 and 4x2 as well. ETS2 had all 7 brands so that could be why it got 8x4.

@Virgo91 spotlight when I use it is in reference to just one particular item in the game getting shine time. Whether that is a new map expansion and nothing else, a new truck on old maps and nothing else, a new trailer pack with no new truck or new map or a new tuning pack with nothing else. Spotlight = solo introduction to the game.

@flight50 that's what i was thinking. But hey,as i said, new trucks can be driven on new maps...so no stealing one spotlight when 2 items can share it.Right?

@flight50 its fine in my book regardless. SCS probably have good reasons for that im sure, they're aware that fans want it.

My 20 cents about the 49X:

What a lovely truck this is! I have nearly 15k miles with 49Xs now and it is really fun to play, although right now "only" the daycab is playable. Very good handling, nice interior, good view and lots of customization options. Beside the fact, that it's really a brand new truck! Excellent job, guys! :)

The only thing to criticize from my point of view are the DD-transmissions. I had been looking forward to them, but the shifting points for automated driving spoil the fun somehow. Too much manual shifting necessary for reasonable rpm. Fortunately the Eaton transmissions work well with the DD and the Cummins efficiency engines (Haven't tried the Allisons yet). So I use them instead. But this is moaning on a high level... :D (It took SCS some time to change the shifting points in ETS2 for the standard transmissions (they are great now btw.!), so there is hope... ;) )

I am really looking forward to the sleeper versions of the 49X. Four or five different versions are available from WS. We'll see, which two we will get!
