I today saw a WS 49X SFA with the 72" sleeper all painted black with chrome parts; I never really liked WS but when I saw it in real life it kind of hit me!!!

It did look really good!

tbh I wouldn't add that truck because its just to similar to the one we have. Only difference is the shorter hood which isn't much of a deference.

Yeah that 10 inches of savings isn't aimed at the semi tractor market, that's more for straight truck applications where they have length limits to worry about. The 49X is already well under the longest permissible semi cab length in the USA.

Honestly I like the 49X, the only pet peeves being the lack of sideskirts and the long chassis. Wish we could see a similar modern Western Star Vehicle that’s targeted towards the OTR market.

More like a 5700XE with less chrome and 49X-type interior and mirrors. Would look absolutely dope.

That's a thing? I always assumed there's no such thing, considering all the "long" trucks (which look like a freaking bus with a fifth wheel).

In general, the overall vehicle length is unlimited in the US. However, certain roads and highways do have length restrictions.

There's no combined tractor-trailer length limit on most American highways, but the tractor still has to be under the legal length limit as a stand-alone vehicle. That number is usually something that would be absolutely silly for a semi-cab, like 40 to 45 feet in most states, which is how those wild stretched sleeper semis can be road legal.

The most notable combined tractor-trailer length limits still in effect in the USA are 65 feet for non National Network routes in states like California, Oregon, and Arizona, and 55 feet in the entirety of New York City when over a mile from National Network highways, both of which are typically met by local companies that have daycabs and shorter trailers for making deliveries beyond the National Network. A lot of these length limits are just not even enforced anymore as conventional sleeper trucks hauling 53 foot trailers has become the industry standard. Police will happily slap you with the overlength fine if you cause an accident, but on many roads they won't even try to stop you from using it otherwise.

Happened to stumble on a 49X in the wild. Though you WS boys and girls would appreciate it.
