At the moment there are only a few of them but more will follow so we will get more 49x photos in truck dealers soon

There is no 2018 VNL 780, it had been replaced by the VNL 860 after the model change....Freeze338 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2020 07:38 @NoDe31 I actually said even it's not possible to record. I also want to proper recording. I'm also aware of the situation. The best example is 2016 Volvo VNL 780 and 2018 Volvo VNL 780. They both are same truck but 2018 version is way more quite.
But current in 49X everything is wrong. At least using Cascadia sounds gives proper, blinker sound, trailer brake sound and etc.

What's the difference between the 780 and 860?
Btw those WS 49x trucks are looking good

In the 2018 model, 780 and 860 is the nomenclature for the 70 and 80-inch sleeper cabins (high roof ones) respectively.
2018 VNL 860 is equivalent to the in-game VNL 780.

Even now I prefer the 49X to the Cascadia. Won't be worse with the sleeper cabs...
It would be nice to use the Cascadia's sounds for the DD engines and the Lonestar's sound for Cummins.

The 780 was discontinued when the new VNL came out, and replaced by the 860 (so not even the same body)leo.arevalo12ss wrote: ↑17 Jan 2021 04:55 What's the difference between the 780 and 860?

That said, both have a 77 inch sleeper, but they don't have the same option (the 860 even have the Globetrotter XL package, which was unavailable to the previous generation VNL)
Do note that what we have in-game is the 2014-2017 VNL (which is the previous generation)

49X could actually benefit from Cascadia's DD sounds. I actually wished they included the OM471/473 engine sounds for the DD13 and DD16 respectively back when 49X was released. I always feel that I'm driving a Lonestar, whenever I'm driving the 49X (Even the physics are almost similar).
Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
My uncle bought 2018 VNL 780 what are you talking about ? You know when they introduced a new model they won't remove their current models instantly. Freightliner released New Cascadia in 2018 and they sold old one until 2020. Same thing works for Peterbilt 587 and 579 or Kenworth T660 and T860 and etc. Because when you release a truck in a year you'll put them on the market on next year. (You can't find WS 49X 2020 model for sale as an examle.) Meanwhile your company has the stocks for the older model and you have to get rid of them since you won't gonna build those after you release a new model. So the best option is, you'll build older model for a next couple of years until you'll melt your stock for the older model and then remove it from the truck market. Volvo introduced new VNL series in 2017, started to sell them in 2018 and also they sold older generation in 2018 as well. In 2019 they sold only new generation.rookie_one wrote: ↑17 Jan 2021 03:57

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread
These are closer to "Special Edition" models I often saw some american dealerships sells.
It's common to put previous year model as the current year depending on when it was manufactured or sold(GM is a big fan of that tactic when they do a model change). In volvo case, it was said that they would fill current orders, but they did remove nearly all the info on the previous gen VNL when the new model became available for order on their website (which signal that they officially stopped selling it).
On paper it's a 2018 model. In reality, there is no difference between the 2017 VNL and that one
