There can be options like the 389 currently has (round gauges vs digital cluster). The dash and the mirrors looks outdated for an otherwise modern truck.
5700XE is more or less based on the same idea as Anthem: a modern aerodynamic efficient truck but with old school styling to atract some owner operators. Hence the split windshield. C-loop mirrors, old blocky dashboard and excess chrome.
I have approximate knowledge of many things

Never knew that 5700XE was longer. But at least there won’t be a significant gap between the truck and the trailer, I can live with that :D
If they keep the exterior I can take it. I prefer current version tho. Normally I hate older looking trucks but 5700 is classic modern combined truck which is pretty rare and I love that part of it. Except the navigation it has everything I need tho. Modern looking steering wheel, dashboard computer, it's pretty much like Kenworth W900 or 389. As the modernized level it's like VNL 780 so It's pretty good enough for me. On ETS2 I love Actros MP3 so 5700 is pretty much like that as well. I don't like more older looking than that tho. I hate 4900 interior for an example.

About the size, well largest sleeper of 5700XE is 82 inch long. 49X has 72inch. Also hood of 5700 is longer than 49X.

Btw I'm just curious, are you using SFA or SBA axle when you drive 49X. Because if I'm not remembering wrong Set Back Axle has better maneuverability. So if you are using SFA try SBA config it'll give less long feeling when driving. Control of the truck maybe not changing but I don't know, I feel like it was changing.

I’m driving SBA 72 inch sleeper cab and still the effective wheelbase is longer than other trucks, so didn’t even consider the SFA chassis. Now I’ve decided to use them only to haul 40 feet containers and 45 feet lowboys. On the other hand it is fun to haul RMDs in 49X from Coeur d’Alene to Boise!

It’s okay to haul 49X most of the time, except for Californian cities and backing up.

When the next western star came out 49X, there were 6 cabin guards, but when the sleepy cabins came there were 3.

I'm passionate about Mack Trucks, grew up around them as a kid.

Sleepy cabin - Cabin that makes you feel sleepy; a sleeper cabin
Cabin guard - Headache racks 🤔

Anyway, no more 49X talks please; we got way more than what we expected.

^Lol. Yessss 5700 talk. Would be nice if a teaser kicked in for WS for 1.41. I'm not going to say why but those of you who remember, will understand why WS could be on the menu. WS has to be on the menu for sure before the 49x grabbed attention. I have never seen someone so obsessed with one particular model though. Its almost getting to the point I think I'll have to foe this user unfortunately. Other than not dropping the subject, the user is cool. But I'd rather not keep seeing more wishlist for the 49x at this point.
