ATS 1.39 Speculation Thread
Re: ATS 1.39 Speculation Thread
I'd like to see the AI cars that stop in the right lane (not the pull off lane) for the weigh station on I-15 N going into Idaho be fixed. They've no reason to stop or pull into the weigh station. I'm not using any AI traffic mods.

I've hauled ass down the road to deliver new cars and trucks, fuel, freight, and produce. Now I'm ATS addicted to doing the same thing in a simulation.

Yeah this has been a problem for awhile. Some stations are fixed but not all.
AI stopping in the middle of a right turn is the one that kills me the most though. They didn't always do that. I wonder what in ATS code makes them do this. Its been said they don't do this in ETS2. Does it have anything to do with in the US, we can make right turns on red? The AI may not be smart enough to do this as they once were. They should be stopping at the line just like we do prior to getting a fine for running the light.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

What bugs me most, is the car in frond of you, when traffic slowing down to halt, is brake checking you
There are naive questions, tedious questions, ill-phrased questions, questions put after inadequate self-criticism. But every question is a cry to understand the world. There is no such thing as a dumb question.

I’d sacrifice Colorado to Mid-2021 if it meant we get a complete AI traffic rework.

*Colorado added! LA, and San Diego are unmapped out of protest for their future rework*

@Bedavd woah, now that's a big statement, lol. The AI can be frustrating at times but I'd take them as they are now, vs no AI at all. If I was to make a sacrifice, it would be after Colorado, Wyoming and Montana are released. Then SCS can take how ever long they wish on what ever. I'd take the pause after I-15 and I-25 are completed. Heck get that 1/3 in the game and I'd be willing to wait for a year for something as big as a rescale to like 1:17 (not happening but figure of speech). But I will say that I am curious to see how the East coast will work out. Pretty much everything East of I-25 gets quite busy with roads and cities/towns.
1.39 would be nice to get a real weather system, particle system and fluid skyboxes though. That to me would top my list for graphics overhaul. Prefab updates are a close 2nd. I'd like to see all the base map highway ramps changed out. Some are just too steep. A few other basemap model changes would be cool to see. If 50% of the base map can get closer to the current dlc's, we are definitely heading in the right direction. As more manpower comes, more things can get done.

Reading here, it looks like SCS is finally planning on adding animations to the engine brake controls for trucks that have it controlled by a stalk on the side of the steering column such as the Mack Anthem.

@supersobes hmm, I'm confused. What does the controls look like and move?

@parasaurolophus67 The different stages of the engine brake are controlled by this stalk on the steering column the same way the transmission retarder works on a lot of the European trucks.
