Right Carl, I've been using DSR to reach 3840 x 2160 as a stopgap until scs figures things out and it is miles better than native 1920 x 1080.

do you need to set it every time you start the game ? since the switch to DX11 the game always reverts back to native 2560x1080 for me, other then that, i cant really use DSR because the console is unreadable if i scale it to 4k, same with Super Sampling, wich is basically the same

Yeah it reverts, I think one alternative is to simply use that DSR resolution for your desktop prior to starting ATS.

Thank you both for exactly proving my point that the AA is trash in the game. Let's upscale output to the game so we can have a decent gameplay without jagged edges and shimmering.

Having to go through setting up DSR then changing screen resolution before each game launch just to get a decent picture is perfect enough reason for SCS to add TAA into the game so we can game at the most popular gaming resolution without all the extra needed steps.

Maybe now, that DX11 is fully implemented, they are working on a better AA. Perhaps not on 1.39, but I think the first updates of 1.4X will be more related to graphics on different areas. One must be the AA.

The wrapper they gave Mac hicks for inputs like screen, controller , and microphone. Why it checks for a microphone I have no idea, but might hint at multiplayer coming down the line or some other function with voice like radios. Thats in both ATS and ETS2.

I do wish they would optimize the Mac wrapper though, as I can't do a long haul (like Hobbs NM to Tacoma WA) without it starting to lag after 30 minutes, which I suspect is a memory leak. I hope they start implementing Vulkan soon, as it was mentioned in a stream. I think once they can ensure all three OS platforms can handle anything they throw at it graphically they'll start ramping up the graphics features they offer. it does take time to learn a new technology and implement it well, though.

What I see in 1.39:
+More graphics features/fixes
+FMOD changes/fixes
+Colorado compatibility
+possibly WS stuff if it doesn't come with a 1.38 patch
+maybe a minor city rebuild or a new route. I don't see a big city like LA being rebuilt with 139 but I could be wrong.
+New trailers, snce we already got hints of it

if we don't think we'll get a major city rebuild in 1.39 id love to see barstow and or primm get some love. if both of those and the stretch between them gets rebuilt. that'd give us a perfect set up for the los angeles area next ! :D

also they could add baker, with the words tallest thermostat !

Based on the pattern, if we got a city rebuild, it would have to be one that people keep talking about. The devs have surprised us plenty of times though. So I don't think much is too far fetched. 1.39 will be another good update though.

Agreed. I'm thinking there will be something worth talking about outside of the new WS. What didn't make it in for 1.38, I am sure some things make it for 1.39. Earlier this year there was hints at lighting. So I'm assuming something else related to lighting can come. But I don't think that will be it. From the 3rd week of Sept up to the 2nd week of October, I'd imagine that if 1.39ob is to come before October is over, that time frame is my guess if SCS it shooting for Colorado making it out this year. If Colorado is to make it, the 3rd week in Nov is the latest it comes if Iberia is able to be the December map.

If Iberia falls to early 2021, then Colorado could go to December. If Colorado pushes to early 2021, that could mean that Iberia could be ahead of it, or both Colorado and Iberia come 2021 instead. But with Colorado being much smaller, I'm fairly optimistic it comes for 2020....and yes I know what Pavel said about Colorado.
