That might not be ideal to make an entirely new version of the game just for a small update, particularly if ETS2 isn't getting a new major DLC out of it as ATS would.
It makes things less convenient, but I remember them violating this once before - ATS got a 'partial' update that had been content-frozen for the sake of DLC compatibility, while ETS2 got the full update later and ATS eventually caught up in like January or February. In effect, ETS2 skipped a version number.

Don't remember which state this was though. I think New Mexico. It definitely happened though, but it was years ago and I'm pretty sure it was just that once after the version numbers merged.

Ok, I found it, when ETS2 skipped version number, when checking https://truck-simulator.fandom.com/wiki ... on_history
1.28 to 1.30. ETS2 1.29 skipped. 1.30 was the Italy compability patch. 1st December 2017.

ATS 1.29 was the New Mexico compability patch, released 9th november 2017. 1.30 came 11th january 2018.

I see no reason to postpone Wyoming to v1.42, unless something goes totally wrong with the map DLC.

Didn't SCS redo on how often they do major versions too, some years back?

I agree with Shiva. I don't see a reason to push Wyoming to 1.42. 1.42 is perhaps a Winter update. Wyoming won't get pushed that far when 1.41 is here now. It was probably a pain in the butt to have different updates for both games too. That was almost 4 years ago. That hasn't happened since.

One thing to consider, every year ATS's Winter map has come in October or November. Prior to last year, ETS2's map came Nov or Dec. Guess what, it was kept on the same version as ATS still. So if ETS2 gets 1.41 public one month, ATS can follow a month later for 1.41 that can bring Wyoming. It would be obvious that they need more time for Wyoming. Better to iron things out and delay the release than to just toss it to the wolves. Its no different than ETS2 getting its map a month later and its still the same compatibility update. We can't worry about something like this. Its not the end of the world if ETS2 gets updated before ATS. ATS got its map for 2020 while Iberia had to get pushed to the next release, but ETS2 still got updated for 1.39 when Colorado released and ATS got an update for 1.40 when Iberia released. No concerns here for me.

No it doesn't happen that way. It would always be released in full. Plus it would be unfair for people that aren't in open beta.

Usually the new version release after the beta is around the same time as when new DLC comes out.

Considering they added multiplayer to the game, this beta will easily take longer to get the bugs out as usual, so I think things are on track for July 1.41 and Wyoming release.

I was thinking yesterday about the release date of the Wyoming DLC release and I came to the conclusion that Wyoming will definitely come out on 15.7.2021 (my prediction) because on 16.7.2020 Idaho was released, it would be great to remember two days in a row, the release of map DLC

No SCS usually releases map dlcs on Thursdays right after their release streams. Main reason being bug fixing prior to the week-end.

Now maybe you live in a region where for you it's already friday night/morning when it releases.
Stick to the route. Stop for nothing. Make the drop.
