Wyoming Discussion Thread

#1 Post by Brendan0620 » 06 Jun 2020 19:46

Well, it could be a little bit too early to start this thread, but I figured we could also start talking about Wyoming while we are talking about Idaho and Colorado, Idaho is close to release and it borders Wyoming and there seems to be hidden roads in the Utah DLC already. I also think that Wyoming could be one of the two states released in 2021 since many people think the same. (along with Montana)

Sure, Wyoming might not excite many people in real life but I find it very interesting, a lot of nice mountains and roads to drive on and I am super excited of how it will look in American Truck Simulator!

We are definitely going to get the cities of Cheyenne, Rock Springs, Casper, and a few other cities. Also, we could get Yellowstone National Park, one of the notable national parks in the United States.

I think we should share our thoughts below on what we will see in Wyoming and what could come.

UPDATE 12/9/20: Wyoming has been announced as the next state to enter American Truck Simulator! https://blog.scssoft.com/2020/12/introd ... oming.html

UPDATE 9/7/21: Wyoming has been released! https://blog.scssoft.com/2021/09/wyoming-release.html

@parasaurolophus67 Same! I find Wyoming to be amazing and exciting, though it is the least populated state in the United States, there sure is a lot of land to see and a lot of roads to drive on. and I don't think Texas will come for a while, it's way too big and I think SCS will focus on filling in the rest of the map, such as adding states like Wyoming (the one we are discussing), Montana, Nebraska, Kansas, and other states.

I see Texas in 2022. Wyoming and Montana for 2021.

Hey, you start building hype for yet even unannounced DLC? I'm in.

I hope for WY and MT for 2021 as well. Boxes up the map.

Wyoming might not excite people? Only Yellowstone makes that DLC super exciting. Look I don't know what people think but I care scenery more than anything in this game and I believe Wyoming will satisfy me a lot.

I know west states scenery generally but I don't know Texas as the scenery. If Texas does not have much scenic roads tbh it doesn't mean anything to me. It'll add more roads and big cities that's all. But as I've said I have no idea about Texas so it'll be a surprise for me. I hope it won't be a overrated product.

Wyoming has mountains and pure nature which excites me a lot. I'm looking forward to drive in there with Western Star 5700XE. I hope both those DLC and truck will be released together.

Here's the thing, two neighboring state dlc's in one year isn't very likely. It's either going to be Wyoming and Texas 2021 or Montana and Texas in 2021.

@dk00? Why isn't it likely? We're getting Utah and Idaho within a year of each other. We used to worry about the sectoring issue, but we've learned that's not as big of a deal as we previously thought.

Or do you mean for diversity's sake? I think in that case Texas would make more sense than Montana, I still wouldn't call neighboring state DLC unlikely.

The team that did Washington is the team that is doing Idaho. Utah team moved onto Colorado. Having two neighboring states at the same time creates delays in development. It's been over 6 months since Utah released, which gave the Idaho team time to cover the remaining parts of the state.

Also it is for diversity. I would hope after Idaho and Colorado it's Wyoming and Texas.
