Haven't posted alot since Wyoming dropped, and to continue to beat the dead horse I hope to see Cody with at least 1.43 if it's earlier great but 1.43 I think is a resonable goal. That said what we do have with Wyoming to me is top notch, the cities are nicely sized and in my opinion I-80 was done masterfully for the scale, I just felt they managed to get good sized cities balanced so well with the country side. I love Jackson, and love the back roads. For a first time team lead and and a relatively new team they have done a fantasic job. I can't wait for Montana even though it is ages away, I can't wait for Montana to realise the potential of both Wyoming and Idaho.

Also, 72 is always under construction on the WY side and it has more grades and is also far more exposed so it's more susceptible to high winds and drifting snow than 310 is.

Biggest issue with 310 is every one of those small towns you see along the way means a speed limit drop to 25MPH and there is ALWAYS a local sheriff or trooper sitting there...
Summertime, is MT-72/WY-120 a good route to Cody, from Montana?
What about the WY-120 section from Thermopolis to Cody?

@hangman005 agreed. I think the fairly new team under a new map lead is the impressive part. The work done, resembles a pretty experienced team. We do know that Davido has been around since Oregon days so he has the experience. But his team doesn't. I have zero concerns with the sophomore team going into Montana. Take it by storm and knock that bad boy out. Montana will definitely make Idaho great. The connections to the existing map will do wonders. Its more critical than Idaho was for closing the I-84 gap.

@Shiva He stated that its not often that they take WY-120/MT-72. SCS more than likely sticks with US-310. The small towns yukonjack mentioned has speed drops. Luckily for us, we have 1:20 scale. So all those towns may not fit. If SCS does too much of them, it will make that entire road feel more developed than what it is.

But I do honestly like the immersion that speed drops give on back roads. It gives me a great reason to go thru my gears and jake brake, lol. I love working my stick and back roads is the best place to do them other than on surface streets thru a city. SCS could make each small town about the size of an interstate junction. That's pretty much all we'd need for such small towns that would be scenic. Lovell would be a must. But if Cowley and Deaver snuck in, I'd be okay without Frannie. Or maybe just 2 of those 4 those would work. Frannie is so close to the border that the straighter road would just blend into Montana to Frannie could just be removed to give more space between Deaver and Bridger/Edgar. I'd like to get some good distance to bring in that drier looking country side before we hit another patch of greener terrain.

Addind WY-120/MT-72too, could have given more road options :)
And more reasons for Cody.

I'm thinking WY-120 South of Cody is a lot more extra work than the devs may want to apply to Wyoming since it already released. I'd do the minimum fans are asking for and that is US-14 from YS to Sheridan. I'd then put toss that person back to Montana asap. If Davido stated that YS was done in like 3 weeks, I'd x that by lets say 3 to make Cody and US-14. So that is 9 weeks. Add in WY-120 and that is another 3-4 weeks added to that for little gain. Its a shorter distance from Cody to Riverton but at our scale, it won't save that much time for us. US-20 connects up to US-310 and just running that into Montana seems like a more direct path.

I would rather have WY-120 and US-14 to Cody, from US-20.
Than US-14 between WY and Cody, if I would have to choose between these roads.
Cities take longer time to develop than roads. Especially if not a scenery city.

If we can't get to Sheridan from Cody via US-14, there is no point to Cody nor US-14.

On another note, with Volvo Construction Equipment DLC update, they activated the Special Transport Job for the chopper From Riverton to Yellowstone, it will appear in your in-game E-Mail
Stick to the route. Stop for nothing. Make the drop.

^ Thanks for the tip! Just to clarify: It is not necessary to purchase the new Volvo CE DLC for the Yellowstone job. You only need the following:
  • ATS update 1.41.1.86 (released today)
  • Wyoming DLC
  • Special Transport DLC

I don't know, I think I'm just glad enough that Winnemucca is no longer Grand Central Station for ATS.

BUT Sheridan to CDA is pretty absurd right now though. IRL that route via I-90 is 638 miles for 9h7m. Using the in-game route IRL via I-25, WYO-220, US-287, I-80, I-84, I-82, US-395, and I-90 takes 19h12m and 1304 miles IRL. More than double  https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Sherida ... 734632!3e0

The game might route you through US-95 though instead of going to Washington. Either way it's a pretty ridiculous detour.
