It is always such a tease when ETS2 and ATS update, and their icons on the Steam download page briefly flash with the Vulcan logo overlaid before it disappears.

I wouldn't be surprise if bits and pieces of the games already have DX12 or Vulcan in them. But to go full flat out DX12/Vulcan would take some time. I bet it would be just like the DX9 to DX11 transition. It wasn't too bad. It was ruff for a period but as usual, SCS was able to smooth it out. But people must have the right equipment if they expect to keep playing. Selfish thinking can't work anymore.

Wyoming, Texas nor HoR will be made with the fulltime next step API, but beyond them is very possible. But it depends on when that stuff is ready. Another big step for SCS though. Such moves can bring more people to the games and hopefully keep them here. I look at the Idaho, the California rebuild, Texas and Wyoming and the graphics are impressive. Next level stuff taking it up another notch would be beyond what I would have ever imagined considering I started playing ATS before the rescale in 2016. Multi core really makes think about states like Wyoming, Colorado and Montana in regards to weather and seasons. The mountain states and the Northeast can be some beautiful areas if the game has extra processing power. Certain task can tie to certain cores and really make the games addictive.

edit
I am wondering what type of Wyoming blog SCS kicks out this week. We are half way thru June already. One more full week of the month left. I might be time for that gameplay video to kick it. Open beta just kicked off so I'd assume at least 3-4 weeks of it. That puts us into the 2nd or 3rd week of July for a release. But at the same time, what's to say Wyoming can't get pushed for August or even September? One thing for sure is the dlc will release when it ready. Much better to have a minimum bug free dlc as possible.

So what does that say about the timeline for the release?

Steam will never give that info. SCS has to provide that. We'd know in an official blog well before SteamDB.

So far we have the following blog posts:

- Guess the place
- Industries
- Truck stops
- Jackson
- Railroads
- Mines
- Nature
- Nature #2
- Road Network
- Devils Tower

What can we expect? I think at least a Cheyenne blog, and maybe a Yellowstone blog. Apart from that I think all of Wyoming is covered. Or are we missing something?

Maybe they could do a history blog post. Running through Wyoming are the Transcontinental Railroad and the Oregon Trail (along with the California and Mormon Trails, and the Pony Express, which all followed pretty much the same route through WY). Also, Green River was where Powell started his expedition down the Green and Colorado Rivers, and the plains of eastern Wyoming were at the northern terminus of the Goodnight-Loving Cattle Trail.

Handy maps and diagrams.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

I think we will also still get a Heavy Haul blog post? That + Cheyenne and hopefully Yellowstone seems about right. If they have more nice sights to show, a History blog would also be possible.

Besides the potential obvious in Cheyenne and YS, history and trailer update are the only two I can think of. HH we don't get but like Sametbey2 say, perhaps it is Special Transport that was meant. That one has a lower % in my book but we can't rule it out.
