Vinnie Terranova wrote: 17 Sep 2021 16:55 The only thing I'm a bit worried about is what kind of roads we will have in the eastern states. In one of the recent posts here on the forum I saw a map of how ATS might look like when the whole of the US is finished. On that map the eastern part of the US consists only of interstates... Almost no smaller US highways or state highways...
the spirit of the United States is its interstate roads.
besides, the secondary roads in the East will not differ much from the highways.

secondary roads only work for short distances.
a trip from Сoast to Сoast only through secondary roads, this is a road through hell)

on the Сoast-to-Сoast trip that we get with the East, the interstate highways will work just fine.

Five of the ten cities in Wyoming are along the I-80,plus they are like someone mentioned spaced along equal intervals like in real life,if you take a look at the google map you will see that not everything is empty like some people think.Between Evanston and Rock Spring there are few small towns so not everything is a wasteland. Also I don't think that Rawlins is stretched to wide, one part of it is in fact Sinclair that is incorporated in Rawlins. For me personally they have done a great job with everything in Wyoming given the scale of the game,I like variety in my game,I don't want just to drive on interstates all the time, from time to time I like change of pace, right now you when you drive through urban areas it actually feels like you are doing that, not like in the past. After all are we not asking from them to rebuild the old cities in the base maps from ETS2 and ATS.Back when Oregon was announced for the first time I used to watch plenty of videos from I-84,then the dlc came and the result was that they had to cut corners,I was kinda disappointed with what we got,but since then I have made my peace that cause of the scale of the world many things will not be like in real life, and I am having a great time with the game.

Wait until DE is put on the map. With the continuation of the 1:20 scale, there'll barely be enough room for the tool booth :D

Rhode Island most likely will be just Providence. DC, most likely won’t be at all, just some ring roads around it and some skyline like Paris in ETS2.
I have approximate knowledge of many things

On the map of the United States those very small east coast states, in the region that the Americans call ''New England''. I believe that the current scale makes it very small and few cities. Ideally, map the United States at 1:15 when you get close to D.C.
And, teams could remodeling the map of states along the existing routes. After completing the map of the U.S.A, MAYBE SECONDARY HIGHWAYS and new major cities that exist on these highways. It will allow you to build metropolises such as LOS ANGELES, CHICAGO, SAINT LOUIS, DETROIT and others.

I don't really get the impression that I-80 is too urban, even in ATS.

While there are indeed five cities, most of them (except Cheyenne) don't really look like much from the freeway. Admittedly I've never driven this stretch in real life, but its incarnation in ATS reminds me a lot of I-45 between Houston and Dallas - i.e. a lot of very small cities, with almost none of them really leaving a huge impression beyond their immediately useful services (i.e. gas, rest, maybe food/hotels). I-80 has more terrain and fewer trees, though, of course.

Agreed Sora. People don't know what urban really looks like if they think Wyoming is too urban. When I-35 in Texas comes, compare that to I-80 in Wyoming. Those cities along I-35 are much larger than anything on I-80.

I-80 is sparely populated along the interstate with development. It fits well. I think people expect noting but a back roads look in Wyoming, even along the interstates. Most seem to be cool with Wyoming. I still have a lot of exploring to do though.
