Re: Wyoming Discussion Thread
Driving School sounded like a further off plan to me when Pavel talked about it during the Xmas stream. Then again, so did multiplayer and that came with 1.41. So you never know.
I'd be pretty shocked if we didn't get anything from California with 1.42. Wyoming extensions, I think it's 50/50 for 1.42 vs 1.43 if they come at all. But California should be coming as they have a team dedicated to it. This ain't your grandpa's Germany rework
As for what I want to see from Wyoming after having played it and discovered ~2/3 of the roads, I'd say my priority list would be (only counting wishes that I think have a chance of coming true):
1. Cody via US-14 from Greybull
2. Newcastle via US-16 from Moorcroft and WY-450 from Black Thunder Coal Mine (could come before South Dakota like Bayonne and Lacq did before Iberia)
3. US-14/US-20 from Cody to US-191
I think 1) is possible in the next update or two but I'm not betting on it, 2) is possible leading up to South Dakota but it depends on their plan for the Black Hills, and 3) is a toss-up if 1) happens. SCS hasn't said anything about Cody or US-14, only their desire to one day extend Yellowstone via US-89 towards Montana.

Re: Wyoming Discussion Thread
I think Cody is still a long time away and I would guess comes with the Montana DLC.

Re: Wyoming Discussion Thread
Thanks Flight. I can't/won't take credit for it but I like to think that SCS listens to their community better than most other games! Hopefully they were able to find something useful in one of my comments and I'd be happy to answer anything about grocery trucking in Montana if they ask
To your other point though, the biggest draw to having the smaller highways would be if we ever get inclement weather and actual road closures. When 90 or 25 closes (which is... often), we use the state highways and back roads to get to where we need to be. Only seen DOT close those a few times and it was for fire not for snow. If we had a system of random closures or weather (not just a "detour" that you avoid by taking an offramp/onramp) that actually forced a REAL reroute, then the usefulness of B-roads goes up exponentially. Until then though, they are just redundant.

Re: Wyoming Discussion Thread
I suspect, given what you say (and my secret suspicion) Cody and the 310 corridor get added as Montana DLC. It'll be similar to the other connector roads we get from/to a new state from existing DLC. I'm hoping beyond hope that's the plan. That part of Wyoming is beautiful (I think).yukonjack_ak wrote: ↑21 Sep 2021 22:31
Sure, Cody has the usual suspects: a Walmart, an Albertsons, lots of ranching/agriculture so there's lots of traffic coming TO Cody (mostly from Billings) but it would just be another dead end like Salmon, ID...
That said, now that Yellowstone did get made for the DLC and it's a deliverable location, I do really hope that SCS goes back and adds Cody. Add in a Walbert, an Eddy's and a Homestore in town and a farm or two just west of town.
***SNIPPED***
Also, having Cody in would mean that 310 would have a better chance of making it in the Montana DLC as a alternate route into Billings.
Honestly though, I think we get Cody eventually. Probably in a map update patch along with some more of the CA Re-Work project or with Montana. I think the thing I'm most disappointed in is not having 287 from Ft Collins to Laramie. But that's a different issue...
But, we can't have everything, and if it doesn't come, it doesn't come. We still have a lot of beautiful countryside to drive through.

Re: Wyoming Discussion Thread
Cody might get added right before Montana, but it would 100% be part of the Wyoming DLC just like Bayonne and Lacq were part of Vive la France. No way Cody is locked to Montana, that'd be a massive PR storm waiting to happen.

Regarding Cody.
US-14/16/20, between Cody and Greybull has older google streetview footage than WY-120, between Cody and Thermopolis.
WY-120, has better streetview all the way to the Montana border, than US-310.
Then north of the border, it switches, there US-310 has better streetview, than MT-72.
Both are legal truck routes.
WY-120/MT72 via Cody, would seem to be the shorter and faster route from Thermopolis "and Riverton" to I-90, close to Billings. That did surprise me.

Re: Wyoming Discussion Thread
I totally agree. For many of us on here it wouldn't matter though because we plan on buying all states. But some people don't have interest in all states or can't afford all. So these type off adds must make sense.oldmanclippy wrote: ↑22 Sep 2021 17:25 No way Cody is locked to Montana, that'd be a massive PR storm waiting to happen.

Re: Wyoming Discussion Thread
At least with the company I work for, if we're running straight to Cody, then we take MT-72 through Belfry but that doesn't happen very often; we're a food distributor so we're stopping at restaurants, hotels, hospitals and all that along the way so routing via 310 means we can hit all our stops on the way down early in the morning.Shiva wrote: ↑22 Sep 2021 17:26 Regarding Cody.

Also, 72 is always under construction on the WY side and it has more grades and is also far more exposed so it's more susceptible to high winds and drifting snow than 310 is.
Biggest issue with 310 is every one of those small towns you see along the way means a speed limit drop to 25MPH and there is ALWAYS a local sheriff or trooper sitting there...
