Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Not impossible, just extremely comical and immersion-killing. Getting all 26 in Houston would be very jarring coming from not getting all 12 on I-25 in Denver.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
To be quite honest Katy should be scenic.
26 lanes isn't enough for that area. They need 50 if that would help.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I think it would be a big mistake for SCS to make the Katy Freeway scenic. ATS is already missing the west end of I-10 in Los Angles, but I'm fully expecting them to fix that once the California rebuild moves down that way. I-10 in a major east-west two digit Interstate. In my opinion, I-10, I-40, I-70, I-80, I-90 all should be in ATS in the full length. Same with the north-south Interstates, I-5, I-15, I-25, I-35, I-55, I-75, and I-95. Just like I-5 currently is in-game, these are the roads that will allow the player to drive the map end to end. This is something that should not by interrupted by omitted road segments.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Katy, Tx and Katy freeway as scenic is two different things though. Katy, Tx....yes it should be scenic and no point in marking it. If we do get it, SCS will absorb it into Houston. Now the Katy hwy...that is impossible to be scenic. I don't think Larry meant the hwy itself being scenic..only the city. To have I-10 be scenic makes zero sense. Service road/express lanes, yes those can be scenic but the interstate itself is the artery to travel as it must be accessible.
My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

Oh, he probably was talking about the city. I'm an idiot.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I sure can't wait til this time 2023. I know its jumping wayyyy ahead by 2 years but I can't stop licking my lips at what could potentially be in place or revealed to be on the way. But the end of 2023, I think option 1 or option 2 will be in place.
Option 1

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Interestingly, we’ll still only have 3 fully enclosed states in both of those scenarios. And we’re getting Utah fully enclosed next month (hopefully).
But it does look pretty nice!! I hope we get KS before AR personally but I’m not really that picky

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I saw Louisiana in both options. I like both options.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
In due time, more will get covered up. The states are getting smaller so coverup will happen quicker after Texas and Montana. For me, there are benefits for both options.
Option 1
-extended I-40 from Amarillo to hopefully close to Memphis as possible
-extended I-30 from where ever Texas stops all the way to I-40 in Arkansas
-extend I-20 from Tyler/Longview to perhaps Monroe, La
-extended I-10 from Houston or Beaumont to I-59 hopefully
-extended I-35 from DFW to perhaps Ponca City, Ok
I think a boxed in Texas would be sweeter. Option 1 sets up Kansas and Missouri to release back to back if SCS chose to do so. This boxes up the map nicely assuming Mississippi is the only East state during that time. So 1 state East...2 states North. Takes longer to get to the East coast but the map stays more boxed.
Option 2
-extend I-20 from Tyler/Longview to perhaps Monroe, La
-extended I-10 from Houston or Beaumont to I-59 hopefully
-extended I-35 from DFW to I-70
This option is more stair stepped. It pushes East only by one state and 2 states North stacked over one another. Can't exactly put two side by side while building North.
Either could work but I favor option 1 so that both Missouri and Kansas can follow one another closer without waiting for a fill in state.
Yes Louisiana is in both options as the wild card is Kansas and Arkansas. One has a AR at the beginning, lol.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
@flight50 I don't think the scale of the map affects the number of lanes, another thing I wanted to see is your map in 2023, I think by 2023 we will get Wyoming, Texas, Montana, Oklahoma and Louisiana with the last two states coming in 2023, which means that options one and two will not be met, i wrote the states in the order in which they come
