Texas Discussion Thread
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I don't know if this was already mentioned, but I would love to see bigger car dealers and the really big flags (most times) in front of them - For example:

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I mentioned it May 2020 iirc in the one post I made somewhere on this forum when that one Iberia blog about the automotive industry came. I think it was in the "What industry do you want" thread. I mentioned what I think needs to happen in ATS for that industry to come to life.
Found it. viewtopic.php?p=1354019#p1354019

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I'd be surprised if Waco didn't make it. Temple is iffy. Scenic at best.
Waco is perfect as its between DFW and Austin. Its a nice breakup. Doesn't have to be large at all either.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
It seems half the drive between DFW and Austin is going though Waco. lol
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
Waco Siege, Waco silo explosion, it's too famous to not include.
Add this as random event?

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
That explosion was in West, Texas (North of Waco), not Waco and it was a Fertilizer plant. That plant doesn't mean it needs to make ATS just because of it. A random event with such destruction would not be proper in a rated E game. I don't see that happening.

West Fertilizer is no longer there according to Google Maps Satellite. Street view does show the devastation though.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
The Waco Siege is also a dark mark on the city, and I've heard that residents don't like bringing it up, so I wouldn't include Waco because of the siege. The city is significant enough in terms of size and presence on I-35, and it's isolated enough between DFW and Austin; these reasons are enough to feature it as a marked city.
What about Killeen? This stretch of the 35 will be crowded enough in the game, but Killeen (and Temple, to a lesser extent) also seems worthy of being marked.
All these large cities and towns... it's true what they say: everything is bigger in Texas.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
^Lol. Yes Texas is huge and I bet this dlc reflects that. Killeen/Temple? This is soooo subjective to me. Here is the way I break it down.........the I-35 corridor part of the Texas triangle that is.
Is there space for another marked city.......honestly I don't think so and I hope Temple would only be scenic. I-35 is urban for sure but there needs to be enough green in between cities to make if feel spaced out. If the I-35 corridor is all on top of each other, it gets to crammed and that won't feel right imo. Now how can Killeen come into play? Imo, if Temple is a smaller scenic city Killeen can possibly go marked at that point. West of I-35 there is space for SCS to do whatever they wish so they could spread out as long as they are off the main corridor. Temple is much smaller than Killeen anyways. Killeen is a military town so it could technically be skipped. But if its marked, I'd say 2-3 depots and that's it. We have Waco and Austin that flank it though should have more industry.
- D/FW to San Antonio. 3 cities we know will make the game.
- Half way between DFW and San Antonio is Waco. Waco makes for a nice break up and a nice small marked city.
- Half way between Waco and Austin is Temple.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I-35 is going to be tough. In other areas they made the roads windier than in real life to cram more in, new US-101 between Eureka and Ukiah for example. But I don't think they could really exaggerate the curves on I-35 that much as it's a mostly straight highway. I think they're going to have to make some painful cuts.
