Re: Texas Discussion Thread
So what downtowns besides Amarillo would we be able to drive through? Here are the cities I'm thinking:
Beaumont
Galveston
Tyler
Abilene
Odessa
Brownsville
Lufkin
Wichita Falls
San Angelo
And possibly:
Bryan
Longview
Midland
Del Rio
Didn't bother mentioning small towns.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
^I can go with most of those. I'd like to see Victoria too though. Its small enough. On the fence is Corpus, Laredo, McAllen....I don't see these left out the game as marked cities. They could be a 50/50 shot for a drive thru. Anything the size of Boise, Idaho Falls or Twin Falls imo is possible to drive thru. I like the way they were done for the Idaho dlc. At the same time, I like Grand Junction, Montrose, Ft. Collins and Sterling drive thru. Those are all good sized cities imo to drive thru. No telling what they do in Texas but we have to get something to drive thru. Idaho and Colorado can't have all the latest fun.

In my opinion with Texas new effects should be implemented like
Heat reflections on the ground and may be duststorms, dust devils. May be police checkpoints near mexican borders and border control/patrol.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
And Peterbilt 389 will be the cover truck, don't you think so? Because it's the only truck with no cover at this moment (Cascadia and 49X apart) and Texas is Peterbilt's home.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
^Agreed. The 389 is the truck I've said until the Cascadia arrived. SCS has been putting the newest released truck on the cover. Not to mention, iirc, SCS has to have permission to even put licensed trucks on the cover. Obtaining a license for permission to be in the game is one thing, but to promote a new map dlc by placing a licensed truck on the cover to make money on the dlc is another thing. Soooo SCS might have to get permission from Peterbilt first assume they comply. I use to think that it was Paccar that made the decision for the Kenworth and Peterbilt factories but when the Kenworth factory was pushed by Kenworth to get in Washington, seems like each brand is who SCS has to finalize things with for final permission. Paccar may own both, but each brand has say so as well.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
The Peterbilt 579 is used on the cover art of the game itself, so I believe licensing shouldn't be too large of an obstacle for the the 389 to appear on the cover art for Texas to represent Peterbilt's home state. In fact, the 389 is already used on the cover art for the Nevada DLC. Although that might be a bit different since it's a free DLC.
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
With Washington we got the Kenworth factory, new Kenworth truck cargo, and Kenworth branded trailers in AI traffic. With Oregon we got the Western Star factory, Western Star truck cargo, but no branded trailers.
For Texas, I expect to get the Peterbilt factory, Peterbilt truck cargo, and I hope for Peterbilt branded trailers to appear too.

I did not find the official nevada cover for ATS, I found this on Google and it is from the official ATS website (supposedly).supersobes wrote: ↑09 Jun 2021 19:23 The Peterbilt 579 is used on the cover art of the game itself, so I believe licensing shouldn't be too large of an obstacle for the the 389 to appear on the cover art for Texas to represent Peterbilt's home state. On the other hand, do you think Falfurrias and Denton are industrially significant enough to be in the DLC?
@flight50 I hope you can help me with this question
