Texas Discussion Thread
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
@TexasWhirlwind check @Bedavd's signature. He makes a map of all the pic SCS posted from blogs. SCS's first 2-3 blogs had lots of Amarillo references.
@TomTRW. You have some great ideas about getting out the truck and doing all that. Unfortunately, the same things have lingered around this forum for years as others have mentioned the same. The good thing is that we have one more person that is requesting for it. But over in the wishlist thread, there are tons of things we all ask for. viewforum.php?f=185. Read up there and see what others have asked for. Some things come true, some don't.

My post are only thoughts and ideas. Don't assume it makes ATS.

@TexasWhirlwind yeah, we only have 2 full photos showing Amarillo, but most of the floating assets featured in the Buildings Blog in June of this year were buildings around downtown Amarillo. I also put them all into the Gallery of the Amarillo page on the TruckSim Wiki

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
How do they have Amarillo, but no Lubbock? And by the direction they're building, shouldn't they have El Paso for now? It's pretty close to New Mexico. Yet, El Paso's road structure is pretty dense and confusing though.
My El Paso postulation: I am expecting Loop 375 with I-110 as well as US-180/62 with US-54. We can have Mesa St/Resler Drive, Airway Blvd, and Zaragoza street. Since TX-178 only goes to the border with Sunland Park, it isn't necessary.
Also on a map I traced and envisioned a possible 1:20 version of I-35 between Dallas and San Antonio. I just took the route irl a few weeks ago, so I have a better viewpoint. US-67, Loop 12, I-20, US-287 (I am rethinking Waxahachie), TX-22/TX-171 (Hillsboro), US-84, TX-6, TX-53, US-190/Loop 363, I-14/US-190, rest area, TX-29, US-79, US-183/290 (this interchange system is pretty compact), Parmer 734, 15th or 12th idk, some inaccessible overpass, TX-71/US-290, TX-80/123, TX-46, Loop 1604, I-410?

Where is that truck stop?
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
There's a solid 20 blogs to go for Texas I bet. They can't and won't cover every inch of Texas within the few blogs we have so far. No way they leave out Lubbock nor El Paso. Jumping the gun to fast there and Texas is no were close to having the map revealed. I'd wait until 1.44 or 1.45 to near before we start assuming (x) isn't in the game. Texas is probably as Spring at best release. Summer worse case. I'd love to get back on track with June/July and Oct/Nov ATS map releases.
Give them time to reveal more of Texas though. I wouldn't be surprised if we got several city blog with Texas. There just too much to cover and the only thing that will give us that until it releases are blogs and social media coverage. West of I-35 is sparse and every midsized city over that way must make the map. I can count a solid 6-7 that I'm sure make the cut. I could add a few more to that as well but I'll wait to see the final map before I start throwing out the Cody Syndrome, lol.

The more of Texas I see, the more I'm getting hyped for it.

Re: Texas Discussion Thread
I hope they have that mileage sign for El Paso in eastern Texas showing how long the 10 is in Texas
Re: Texas Discussion Thread
^Are you talking about mile marker 880? That's in Orange, Tx. I honestly think Beaumont would be the furthest we'd see in the Texas dlc. Mile marker 880 should be part of the Louisiana dlc once the road extends at that time. Once Louisiana comes, hopefully we can take I-10 all the way to Slidell. Slidell should be scenic but it can get a remote depot from New Orleans imo. Slidell to West Los Angeles would be a nice 1900+ mile trip. Texas accounts for a huge portion of that. So getting Texas in the game and done, is a huge leap forward to building the rest of ATS.

We could also have this sign on I-10 just over the New Mexico line. I think that's the kind of sign he was referring to, flight, but I haven't found a similar sign in the east.

Furthermore, I consider that I-80 across Nevada must be redone next.

I didn’t know about the one going eastbound. I hope they both get added though. Wow it will be interesting to make that drive and I’d always go from Texas all the way to California when heading west.
