You have to look at Bedavd's map. Look in his signature and he has all pic references and their locations that we can confirm.

The I-35 corridor for Texas will by far be the busiest in the game hands down. I wouldn't be surprised if it takes 2 years to build just that part. Its the bulk of the Texas Triangle. The Triangle is the biggest reason Pavel wanted about 20 mappers on Texas. The typically suspects should be in play imho. DFW, Waco, Austin, San Antonio and Laredo. I'd expect those to be marked. If you want to go scenic, I'd toss Denton, Hillsboro, Temple, San Marcos or New Braunfels into the equation. I'm sure 2-3 places between Laredo and San Antonio would be scenic as well. I don't know that area well enough to say what though. If it was me, I'd pick at least 2 towns though. That's a solid 140+ miles irl distance so 2 scenic towns minimum I'd say.

Lampasas....is possible. It would be scenic though. We'd have to get US-281, US-190 or US-183 for sure though. US-190 would make Killeen valid. I doubt we get that road and Killeen not be a big part of it. Whether Killeen is scenic or marked is the question. Its a military town and we know SCS steers clear of military. Depending on the size of Waco and Austin, will determine what Temple and Killeen looks like if they exist.

All the major cities will be marked for sure. Far as secondary cities that is a toss up but here is my list of secondary cities.

Mt Pleasant
Van Horn
Fort Stockton
San Angelo
Lubbock
Witchita Falls
Corpus Christi
Victoria
Schulenburg
McAllen
Brownsville
Tyler
Sherman (If we get 69/75)
Abilene
Midland-Odessa

Between Fort Stockton and San Antonio I don't see anything to really put there except truck stops and rest areas.

What about Sonora? I see some oil operations around there, but on the other hand, there are oil operations all around Texas! So maybe skip this one

Not a bad list. I don't see anything getting marked between San Antonio and Houston though. Scenic yes but not marked. I wouldn't bother with Schulenburg. Between Ft. Stockton and San Antonio is a long dead drive for sure. I'm hoping for a small Pioche/Tonopah like town to break it up. Ozona and Sonora are in oil/gas areas. Then Junction is perhaps a fit. Downtown San Antonio to Ft. Stockton is about 300 miles. That's a good stretch of road. If nothing is marked, we'll definitely get something scenic for the fuel stops and rest stops like you mentioned. They could be something like Deming New Mexico or West Wendover in Nevada/Utah. 2 of the three I mentioned works. West of I-35, we should get more long runs of nothing for sure. Mostly scenic towns out that way. This area will also give us a small taste what how open Eastern Montana be distance wise. Not terrain wise but the openness could be comparable. I really like Kerrville though. It has industry but its perhaps too close to San Antonio. San Antonio will need all the space it can get as its affected by Austin.

I don't think Tyler is the only secondary city to consider in the East between I-20 and I-10 though. Unless you are considering cities like Longview, Lufkin, Nacogdoches and Marshall as primary cities.

lol. Fra_ba beat me to it before I could finish editing and posting. We were thinking the same.

I believe Lampasas is confirmed actually. It was featured in a blog post before, and has this distinct mural that caused someone to quickly identify it. I agree it’s definitely a scenery town.

This one. My guess is scenery along US 190 heading from I-35 to San Angelo and US 183 from Austin to Abilene. I doubt we get US 281, at least in that area. I haven't analyzed the whole route so it might show up elsewhere.
