some other areas to include is some shipping ports located near Beaumont , Texas

Port Arthur

Gulf Copper Central Yard

Aurthor Shipyard

I expect them to include non-container ports in Corpus Christi, Galveston and Beaumont and a container terminal in Houston

I really wonder why Texas wasn't choose as starting state. It is big enough, and you can build map in three directions from here.

@xyzan,
that's an idea, then we'd be speaking California instead of Texas. At that time, we would be very curious about California and the northwestern states. Texas would then have a low quality. I am confident that the reason it started in California is the natural beauty and scenic states in the west.

Since it would only be Texas, it would be boring by many because it was so flat.

Texas, from the photos I have seen have plenty of diversity. great landscapes and is big. It would have been a better choice for the base map, but I am glad it did't and we will get it in the future with better quality and the graphics improvements that are coming. Imagine having a base map with almost the size of ETS2 base map without UK, with the quality of Scandinavia DLC, with European looking roads, intersection and Cities. This is a nightmare for me. Texas Is my favorite State.

To be frank, I have been asking myself the same thing once or twice. But, to be frank, I am rather glad that they began in California. When I think about Trucking in the USA, then I imagine the vast empty spaces in the west instead of the densely populated places in New England or along the Great Lakes. Plus the west has this diversity in Biomes (Desert, Green, Mountains), that make it so distinct and special when compared to ETS2.

And don`t get me wrong here. I am looking forward to Texas. It pushes the borders of the game map a decent way eastward. There are several metropolitan areas. And, after an appetizer in Colorado, we`ll see a bit larger part of the Great Plains. My first trip will be either from L.A. down the I-10 to Houston or I will turn left on the I-20 and visit @flight50 in Dallas.
