As for police cars, SCS added two tags into their def files (urban, highway) and I must say the spawning is working far more better this way than before
correct, I have seen this now after checking in more detail the traffic files

Are these new or updated in 1.38? I don't remember them standing out like they do now....

1600% or 16x is 4^2, it just seemed like a nice number for me, up from the current 2^2 = 4x or 400%.
The more pixels, the less aliased and sharper the image will be.
Other forms of antialiasing may be less heavy on the performance, but in my view there are always unintended artifacts and some blurring of the end result. So if the GPU can handle it, I will always prefer good old supersampling. In the early days (3Dfx era) this was the only form of antialiasing used as far as I can remember.

Ai trucks: I had a quick look and seems a bit confusing, SCS renamed the type truck into semi_truck and kept the name truck for the simple trucks like the mack rd and with low spawn. I did the same long time in ETS2 with BDF trucks as separate type of trucks
also I noticed that the small isuzu truck (chevy_lowcab) has a tag sm_truck. I could not find any reference to what this means, may be related to Idaho? it seems that Idaho will come with some new vehicles :D
in my game the isuzu truck has been long time already assigned to city_truck, I see that in 1.38 is still present in the car storage file. other Ai vehicles receive also other tags like "van" perhaps SCS wil be kind enough to let us know what exactly these tags do. for police cars I understand that it make thew distinction between types of roads where to spawn, but how about thew other tags with no reference in the spawn files?

1600% scaling with higher your resolution, Well good luck :D

RTX would be better for 16k or higher! ;)

They've separated trucks/trailers in to semi and long (semi being normal, long being doubles/triples) so there is a slight change in that aspect. The trailer/truck combo is still randomly generated but slightly more limited due to the new long category.
Ah, interesting! It looks like a side effect of that is more realistic combinations. For example, I haven't seen a Kenworth W900 with a full studio sleeper pulling a single pup trailer. Rather I've seen trucks with full sleepers and air dams pulling full size 53' trailers, flattop truck pulling flatbed, day cabs with pup doubles, etc.

Thank you. This now explains why the small mod I made to have bobtails (trailerless trucks) are incompatible now.
I don't think you need that mod anymore. I recall seeing bobtailing tractors in the traffic, and I play fully vanilla.
Where in the game world is that?

Scania trucks are the best, but the Peterbilts are good too.
Road signs are just as important as the road itself.

@parasaurolophus67 Bobtails don't spawn on just one highway; they spawn on all of them.
