We need an accurate model before Pride & Class details.

So far, SCS has improved a single old model, DAF XF105 in ETS2, and only when a good modder has joined their ranks and brought his better XF105 with him. I really hope SCS would reconsider this reluctancy for 389 and W900. Other old trucks in ATS are not that important because the new VNL, new T680 and new 579 will arrive at one point, but 389 and W900 are the last call of the classic era and would be nice to have them in a good shape for the years to come.

Yes I do also agree the 389 rework is necessary. The truck look fails in so many aspects that it becames disappointing to play with it.

First 5 trucks needs it. Just because some people likes classic looking trucks does not mean everyone like and they should be prioritized.

Beside resources for remodeling could be use for a new truck. Personally if we could get a truck like old VNL that if waits more, the possibility of having that in game is reduced. I would have that truck in game instead of fixing the old ones. For example if International decides to make new truck despite of the LT and we didn't get it just because resources were using for remodeling, it would be just a huge waste.

Also ETS2 needs that more than ATS. I'm not a core ETS2 player but it's a selfish reason for asking remake 389 while tons of models are outdated in ETS2.

But if resources are enough to release lot's of trucks, then nobody would say no for remodeling.

Bringing up more trucks would be the smartest move. More trucks (free content) would make the game more exciting for a new player as it provides a lot of choices. ATS already lost some good trucks like the Old Cascadia, 9900i, Prostar and maybe even the Ultraloft, the chances of seeing them in the game are slim to none. At least at this point of time, rebuilding existing trucks might not be a good idea.

I want old models to be remaken, too. But I also want more truck models, so I believe priority is new models instead of old models remake.

Unlike the base map rebuild, rework of old trucks will not be a right move. Altough w900 and 389 are still playable, driving in CA does not match with 2021's ATS.

I agree with Freeze and clifflandmark. If ETS2 older trucks are not all remodeled, why should ATS trucks. Those trucks are what they are and may only get texture updates with tuning packs. There are only 5 models. We have 4 great models. That's not a bad trade off. I am still an avid W900 user. I'll never get rid of it as I drive it 90% of the time still. Would I like a newer more accurate model, sure but its not priority.

Those 5 models, count them as a lost for now. I'd rather have 5 brand new trucks than 5 reworked trucks. I'd take the new T680 and the new 579 over the old gens. If anyone still rather the older model when we can have the newer generation..........I can't help ya. The old Cascadia would have been huge for ATS but we don't have it but at least we have one of the two most common NA trucks. But if I had to prioritize 5 models, it would be the new VNL, LT, Pinnacle and both the 5700XE and 4900. Outside those, then look at the 122SD and W990.

The most important part, rebuilding the map does not requiring licenses and states are not shutting down themselves with the time goes .

@flight50 I'm also a VNL user. Especially with sound mod of Kriechbaum sound mod it's great. Not detailed maybe but not completely unrealistic as well. After the Anthem and 49X it's my 3rd favorite truck despite it's not made with CAD. If today SCS releases old Cascadia that they teased in 2016, it'll be my favourite truck .

With 1.40, did SCS also change/fix the tank straps on the Peterbilt 389 (in addition to the front track width)?

Looking at the truck browser the straps look different when the 389 doesn't have any sideskirts.

The 389 has sideskirts?
In a world full of swift drivers, I'm an O/O.
