Kenworth Trucks Discussion Thread

#1 Post by lamar326g » 20 Jul 2020 20:11

Hi All,

I'm excited to kick off the Kenworth Trucks Discussion Thread!

Thanks to the PACCAR Group, we have models from Kenworth that helped solidify the early days of American Truck Simulator. Here are the current Kenworth truck models in-game as of December 19, 2023:

As American Truck Simulator evolves, we look forward to seeing what additional trucks PACCAR will license to SCS in the future! I've added a poll to this thread to see what Kenworth truck the SCS community would like to see next. Please note that the poll selections reflect Kenworth trucks that are still in production, according to the Kenworth website.

Poll reference photos can be found here:

tbh not too sure if C500 would ever get in. Like think its made for logging and stuff. don't think it would work for long hauls v:

(Kenworth C500 with wide hood)

The Kenworth C500 is basically an Off-highway vehicle, However, I have seen it used to Heavy haul at On-highway. (Of course, I think the Kenworth T800 is more suitable in this case.)
I like the unique rough design of Kenworth C500. The chances of appearing are low, but I think it will go well with the Special Transport DLC concept.

Whether it's Kenworth C500 or Kenworth T800, I hope there is a wide hood option when added to the game.

I really enjoy the Peru's W990 improved by Harven. I'd like this truck to be the next official addition to the game. It looked weird to me at first but it grew on me with time xD

I didn't really like the W990 at first either, but then it grew on me as well and now I'd say I would actually be quite excited to get one from SCS at the current model/quality standards. It could also be part of a Kenworth refresh project, since it shares some parts with the T680 which could also be updated this way. So my vote goes to the W990.

Most likely only W990 will come in this list. Other trucks are not highway trucks like the trucks in the game.

I'll be really glad to see vocational models with all configurations. With that I can carry limestone with my dump truck config but it's not looking so possible right now. If it possible Kenworth T440 should be on the list as well.

Is there any other reason why the Kenworth W900 within the ATS, does not have an 86-inch studio sleeper cab option? The Kenworth W900 in the ATS looks like a 72-inch sleeper cab.

If there is no particular reason, I hope 86-inch studio sleeper cab will be added when the Kenworth W900 is renewed.

I voted for the W990.

In-game I drive the W900 and I really like the way it looks and feels, so I'm ready for the W990!

Because SCS chose to not try and make all possible combinations. They've never added a new cab to an existing truck in either game yet, so don't hold your breath.
